A&M should really try to hire a quality OL coach to mesh with the OC

Already hired Cushing from Duke...

Somewhat of a middle-of-the-road hire with baggage from the Northwestern hazing fiasco. Way better than Addazio, but that is a bar that you could crawl over.

Perhaps it's a sign that Elko intends to build an offense in a different mold than the previous rosters and even some of the current one. I'm guessing it isn't a one year project.

And any good OC is going to tailor what he runs to what’s on the roster somewhat at least. Maybe Klein isn’t good and he doesn’t end up doing that. That’s why we play the games. I’m going to assume we won’t be running Weigman like they ran Will Howard though.

We do have talent on the OL. It’s been very poorly developed. That was going to be an issue for any coaching staff that stepped in. I like the Cushing hire and what I saw of the Duke OL during his time there.

Yep - exactly. Klein just doesn't have a long enough history to know how he would handle a different situation than the one he had. Doesn't mean he is unable.

But that sort of conversation requires 2-3 brain cells so, not really gonna happen here.

How in the world does that meld with A&M's OL, QB that has already had injuries and concussion concerns, limited TEs with Johnson transferring, and most of the "talent" left on O as WR?

I just do see how this fits...

This just reflects your general lack of knowledge about our program. The line talent is there. Addazio did his best to screw it all up but they can be a very solid unit with the right coaching.

Jake Johnson was not our only good tight end. He would not have been the starter if Donovan Green did not go down with an injury. We also signed a couple of other 4 star tight ends in Jaden Platt and Theo Ostrom.

And which QB has concussion concerns? Connor Weigman had a right foot injury.

OP... doesn't look like this thread is turning out how you thought ... or hoped... it would.

Good lawd.

More like yours. Lets see that 2 deep currently and their recruiting composite. ATM is paper thin there.

Weigman came to ATM with concussion concerns from HS. He appears to love ATM, not sure how much he'll love running 10-15 times a game... not like KState didn't have QB injuries with their "athlete as QB" approach, and not even playing SEC D-Lines.

Last year we had 10 4*s on the roster at OL. tu had 7 plus 2 5*. Pretty similar.

Nobody from the Big 12 is laughing at this hire. Klein is a very solid hire.

The ags should have hired Kotelnicki that dude is legit.

Klein isn't bad but it's definitely a square peg round hole thing with that OL & Weigman.

The hiring of Klein makes me more nervous about our matchup next year. He is very good at making adjustments at halftime and will be better prepared to beat the Longhorns. Very good hire.

another post about how bad a certain coach is because he’s in the big 12 ….. Think Kansas state is like 6-1 vs sec teams only loss is to Bama … beat LSU by like 30 points . Yah the oc sucks

If you are talking about the cheap shot he took that knocked him out of the Bridgeland/Cedar Hill playoff game, that was the last time anyone has ever mentioned concussion with the kid and that was several years ago. You are making stuff up.
