A lot of people are selling Tennessee short in this matchup if I'm being honest. I don't understand why the media is treating Texas as they were prime Alabama from the 2010s.
Winning at Tennessee is a really tough place to win IMO, especially when they still have that 0 in the loss column. I'll be really impressed if Texas wins by multiple scores like a lot of people think will happen.

I haven’t seen a single person say Texas is going to win by multiple scores. Why do people feel the need to just make stuff up?

I feel like if anyone is getting too much hype it's Tennessee. Tennessee's most recent games played against Final AP Top 25 opponents at home.
vs. #15 Vanderbilt (2025); LOSS 24-45
vs. #13 Oklahoma (2025); LOSS 27-33
vs. #6 Georgia (2025); LOSS 41-44
vs. #1 Ohio State (2024); LOSS 17-42
vs. #17 Alabama (2024); WIN 24-17
vs. #4 Georgia (2023); LOSS 10-38
They are 1-5 in these games... average score is Tennessee 24, Opponent 37.
I know Neyland is supposed to be a huge home field advantage, but it doesn't seem to show up in terms of actual results.
Tennessee was a 5-loss team that lost to every ranked opponent they played last season... and got beat by unranked Illinois in a bowl game. I don't understand why everyone is acting as if they should be vastly improved this season.

It’s not hopeless but I don’t see it..Muschamp rarely loses to Tennessee.

You've seen what you're getting with Texas (while it hasn't been consistent, you know how they play against top talent). Tennessee has yet to play a team with a pulse, you don't know what you're getting with them.
First SEC start for a true freshman QB against the #1 team in the country, and potentially the best defense in the SEC (at least on paper).
Tennessee could very well knock Texas off, but its not really a surprise that people think Texas will win.

UGA is the only current SEC program that I feel confident going on the road consistently and getting wins. Bama used to be in this same category, but I just don't feel the same way about them at this point, but I'd understand it somewhat.
Texas though, it still confuses me. I think the OSU win might have amped up the noise maybe. Like I said they struggled against EVERYONE on the road last year, so I guess I just don't understand the thought process. Think about it what big SEC away venues has Texas played at so far? A&M was big one, but they were previously in the same conference as them so it's a bit different.

Really? I have. The Texas fans I've talked to almost seem to not understand or take seriously the idea of home-field advantage in the SEC. Just caught me off guard a little bit.
