I love Wuerffel . He was a clutch system qb Who ran that offense like a machine and he was remorseless. And he’s an even better human being. I love that guy. He’s beyond reproach in my book. But he’s no Joe Burrow. I mean , c’mon.
But still closer than all the morons picking Starr over Hodson. One guy was a part time starter on horrible teams who never even made third team ALL SEC and the other broke all the SEC passing records and was a 4 time All FIRST team selection. The better argument would be Wuerffel vs Hodson as their stats were very similar ( I’d go with Wuerffel ftw).

There's always going to be debate between long decent career vs. incredible 1 season though.
Wuerffel is honestly probably one of my Top 5 SEC QBs of all time. But, unfortunately he went up against Burrow early in all this. Burrow just had the greatest single season in the history of the sport, so yeah, going to be tough for anyone to win against that.
Probably my Top 5 would consist of Cam, Tebow, Burrow, Wuerffel and either Dak, Manziel or Peyton probably.

Anyone saying Bart Starr or Joe Namath needs to take a look at their stats. Sullivan threw for almost 4,000 more yards than Namath and 30 more TDs.

But yeah I voted Dak over Eli because their passing numbers are similar but Dak's rushing numbers are obviously way better, so Dak it was for me. It was slightly different eras, but still, I said in my post I dont really care what the climate at the time was like, Dak simply put up better numbers than Eli.

Sure, I can’t dispute that.
But Wuerffel has 4 straight elite seasons. Burrow didn’t have a great 2018. It’s also important to note Burrow plays in an era that is absolutely tailored for offenses.
I guess I’d say:
Single overall year - Burrow by far
Overall career - Wuerffel
