and I am pretty sure that this WSJ valuation is the "worth of the brand" as a whole

USCe, Arkansas, and Miss have stronger brands than a team that recently won an NC and has had multiple trips to the playoff?

Lsu is worth nearly a billion dollars, yet their coaching search could only stretch as far as cutoff, LA. all the while, a&m ended up with their former coach who they couldn’t afford.

Hint: this list is all bullshite and accounting tricks.

Do they have more engaged fans?

Do they drive more eyeballs to TV sets?

Do they have higher merchandise sales?

If so, then yes

Sure...miss is selling more merchandise and gets more eyeballs than Clemson.

Lol.

These numbers are from. WSJ

and I can see OLE Miss getting merchandise sales because of the name "Rebels"

Plus the SEC money and branding

Clemson has been hot lately, but is not a huge national brand

Only major program in their state increases value?

I was surprised to see OH State over Texas as well

But Arkansas' ranking is not a huge head scratcher

I’m curious as to what this attributes to? How is the value determined?

How Texas has managed to be complete dogshit since Brown left is baffling to me. They literally have every resource they need

Why is this even a thing? It's not like these teams are moved or bought and sold...these "values" mean nothing other than idiotic "bragging rights"

I highly question the formula for this. There is in no way that kansas football is above Mizzou. Facilities, attendance, football related Merch, success on the field in no categories is kansas a higher value.

gotta admit I was surprised to see that

several people have made good points about things that look weird with this list

Still a fun topic though

sounds like you're butthurt aggie. all your talk of how rich you are and you can't handle it when proven you aren't. and you talk of accounting tricks (like you know shite about accounting) you aggies place your stadium contributions in your annual athletic department income! that makes you look like you bring in a lot more revenue than you do. facilities are accounted for separately elsewhere.

and only Aggie can brag about GUARANTEEING 75 million to a football coach. and one that had a losing record last year at that.

you really are exposing your bragging as just a bag of "hot air". all talk, no substance

The fact that South Carolina is "worth more" than Clemson tells you everything you need to know...

It has nothing to do with team success

And Kansas football attendance is pitiful (they have a 50,000 seat stadium). They sell alot of merchandise, but only 1% is motivated to buy that because of football
