Just to put this in perspective.
UK's basktball team is worth 246,626,000
Down from 342,607,000 the year prior.
Even at UK, football makes more in both revenue and profit.

Our facilities alone are higher than the value given. Seems flawed, but I'm not getting worked up over it.

I'm surprised you're not, seeing as wealth is the sole Aggie argument for anything

no surprise to see Texas close to the top of this list - sorry Aggie
Eh, they are basically the pro team of Austin (one of the biggest cities without a pro team). They should probably be worth more.

Football Complex Updates

Thursday’s long-anticipated reveal of the Aggies’ Bright Complex was, in short, breathtaking. Most of the $20.8 million undertaking was spent on enhancements for the players’ experience including updated locker rooms, lounges, hallways, meeting rooms and a hydrotherapy pool just to name a few.

Project Cost: $ 8.45M
Here is over 1/2 a billion in the last 4-5 years.

look - I am not trolling here
the fact that y'all spent close to half a billion does not mean the facility is worth half a billion
something is "worth" whatever you can actually get somebody else to pay for it (and it ain't for sale)
I am not saying that your project was overpriced, nor am I saying that it should not have been done
the money will wind up being well spent because I am confident that your revenues and ticket sales moving forward will more than justify it
so, in my opinion, the renovation costs do not speak to the actual value of property or the stadium, but rather to the value of future projected revenues to your program (and I am confident that those costs will be amortized and written off)
also, it has been well documented that aTm has nearly unlimited resources, due mostly to your oil endowments
I have always been "pro Aggie" ever since potential expansion and offering y'all an invite came up; my post history will back this up
I am glad that your school takes having top notch, state of the art facilities seriously
I also mixed emotions on being jealous of the 100K + seating capacity; but I really don't ever want to see our bridge knocked down, so it will never happen
having said all of that - great find to prove your point
and I am pretty sure that this WSJ valuation is the "worth of the brand" as a whole

Southern Cal at 25 is a surprise

It would be interesting to see the conference breakdown as-in the totals for each conference compared to one another.
Wonder why LSU is not listed?

they are listed in the WSJ article - 5th, just behind Bama
there was a thread earlier Still on the front page - LINK / about the effects that Amazon, Netflix & other web based media outlets would have on future conference alignments
that thread cites an article that ended by naming teams that would "never be left behind" because of their value - listed the top teams and sourced the WSJ article I used for the thread - he left LSU off his list, despite the fact that they were ranked 5th in the article he sourced
he also made the point that the "top 40 teams" based on value had nothing to worry about with future deals
in the same article that he listed GA Tech as a "fodder team" for top programs (again, his article has GA Tech listed at #38)
interesting article, but the guy was really sloppy - par for the course with today's "journalism"
