I'm not picking sides here, but it sucks how a reporter can ruin almost anyone they choose. There is absolutely zero chance that everything he writes is 100% correct. He is probably right about enough stuff that Mainieri will not want to get into a back and forth, but even that stuff is probably embellished a little bit.

They were fine with it if he would have won. Since they sucked they are looking for any way out.

why 2019?

oh yeah - Tony Vagina got his first period in 2018 at UTK and got swept by Mark Kingston also in his first season at USC -

3-0
1-2
0-0 - SEC play cancelled
1-2 - 5-4 vs Vagina his first 4 seasons

0-3
1-2
0-3
0-3 ...1-11 since everyone started calling for Kingston's head in 2022 after an 8-22 SEC record -

Now do Arkansas vs Tennessee during that same time frame.

If he was mailing it in, why would he care how they played? Why would he want to punish bad play or try to push players? The idea he doesn’t care yet everything points to he does care and he’s willing to push players out to make room for new players.

Paul looked miserable from my view during the LSU/SC series. He didn't even smile when the Gamecocks came back and won on the passed ball.

I know one of the prominent players for LSU when Mainieri was there. He told me at the time that all the LSU players hated Mainieri

Because he knew the only reason he pulled that game out was cause LSU beat themselves, not really anything his team did which was reflective in the two beat downs in the next two games when LSU got their heads out their asses…

This is anecdotal but when I was a student at State, I worked in turf management for baseball and football and game management for basketball.

99 percent of coaches didn’t interact or it was just courtesy. Two stand out to me.

Tubby Smith is an incredible human being. Took the time to shake everyone’s hand and learn their name. Then called us by our name the next time he saw us, which was two years later.

Paul Manieri, then Notre Dame coach, is the biggest a-hole coach in college baseball. We had an F4 tornado come through and he bitched us out because the field wasn’t ready in 10 minutes after the tarp came off.

Lol, dude is famous for recruiting overmatched tiny players and then blasting them at every turn rather than ever look in the mirror. He won a title at LSU because his assistants put together a roster that was just flat out more talented than anyone else.
