Everyone plays 12 regular season games.
Well unless you're game got canceled due to weather and you didn't reschedule (see West Virginia)

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the Committee leaves Bama out in this scenario.

Ohio St did it in 2016.

On top of that, Bama could get left out should they lose to Georgia.
Is that fair?
Absolutely. At some point a team has to be penalized for losing games. Every other team is, why not Bama? I think Bama is the best team in the land. And I also think they beat Auburn and Georgia, and likely both handily.
However, if Bama does not win the SEC, they don't deserve to be in the Playoff.

hat is correct. You beat bama. Bama goes. UGA stays home, if everyone else wins out.
Now I konw you're just trolling because that is literally the exact opposite of what would happen. Everyone else (clemson/ND/michigan/etc) winning out is what would keep alabama out, not us. You fricking idiot.

If Bama ever cries about something being not fair then they won’t get sympathy after the grace the committee showed them last year.
That said if they didn’t get it somehow they still should hang a UCF championship because they would still be the best team.
Zero chance they lose any games with Tua healthy. Honestly I’d be shocked if they lose any games Tua plays in his career.

Not about fair, its about getting the four best teams.

Fair isn’t the question. The point is to get the four best teams in the playoffs. If one loss makes Bama less than four other teams they won’t get in. I don’t think Bama gets left out with a close loss to Georgia. If they lose to Auburn in a close one but beat Georgia Bama is in.

According to Nate Silver, if Bama somehow lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.... Assuming Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Washington State all won out, this is how the teams would be ranked in terms of percentage chance of making the playoff:
1. Clemson: >99%
2. Georgia: 94%
3. Notre Dame: 67%
4. Michigan: 62%
5. Oklahoma: 51%
6. Alabama: 18%
7. Washington State: 8%
It would be a tall order for Alabama to go ahead of an undefeated Notre Dame and a 1-loss Michigan who's only loss was to Notre Dame.
4.

They do, but they only play 2 non-P5 teams (Navy and Ball St). So generally they end up playing the same number of P5 games as most of us. Now the schedule isnt as good as UGA/Bama/Michigan but it will be as good as Clemson.

If they beat USC they are in the playoffs without having to play a conference championship game.
That's how it works.

I honestly don't think the Iron Bowl matters at this point for Bama's CFP chances.

lol, lsu fans. always crying their little eyes out about fairness. such a sad group of fans.

Yes. If the voters review all the teams and come to that conclusion, it is absolutely fair for the system we have
Posted on 11/21/18 at 9:30 am to Rohan Gravy
The CC is only another game. If you play a weak opponent in the CC as Michigan would do it's not going to help the resume that much. OSU is a good team but even they look weak recently. In the end the committee is tasked to put the best 4 teams in. Do you think Vegas would favor UM over Bama even if they lose a close one to UGA? I'm pretty sure we'd still be at least a TD favorite over them.

No.
Everyone has said this is the 4 best teams. UGA is not one of the 4 best teams. If bama loses a close one, they go. UGA stays home. Bama has been crowned one of the best teams of all time. They are easily one of the best 4

Guys just remember Bama does not have to win their conference to get in the NC game! Most of the voters are Saban ball suckers!!!

Let me me preface with I hate ND with a passion.
However, I watched the whole ND vs Syracuse game last weekend and ND looks legit.
They can run well, block and have huge WR's who are going to give DB's trouble.
Their QB is super athletic and makes good decisions.
They will give anyone fits in the playoffs.
