If they beat USC they are in the playoffs without having to play a conference championship game.

On top of that, Bama could get left out should they lose to Georgia.

Is that fair?

They will have played 10 P5 teams which will be the same for Bama/UGA post Title games.

Their schedule won't be as good as UGA/Bama, but the makeup of it will be the same.

Sure, the conference championship game has tremendous ability to help your team if you win it. Cant have all the positives without a negative. Notre Dame deserves a spot if they finish undefeated

Eh...they’re overrated. I’ll enjoy watching Notre Dame get boat raced in the playoffs though.

I think it’s fair. As someone else posted the CC can really help a team like UGA who dropped a game. ND pretty much must go undefeated to get in every year since they aren’t in a conference so I’m fine with it. They will get slaughtered though

If we lose and get left out we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

If you don't like bubbling out, don't leave yourself on the bubble.

OKlahoma did the same thing in 2015.

Did you cry about it then?

Sure, why wouldn't it be? ND would have gone undefeated and beaten a playoff team while bama would have 1 loss while losing to the best team they played.

Eh, at least it wouldn’t be in spite of losing to USC

Notre Dame's closest game was Vandy, so yes they should be in the playoffs.

0% chance of happening. UGA would get left out

I wouldn't be so sure. We played them in our 2nd game last season and barely beat them by 1 point. And of course Georgia went on to play in the NC vs Alabama in a very close game.

I agree they should.

Summer’s post cleared it up. I was thinking they were playing one less game.

Yeah, it's fair. I think the bye before the BCS/play-offs is overrated...you get close to 4 weeks off before the first semifinal even if you play in a conference championship game...and during the BCS days, you got 'bout 5 weeks off...yeah Bama won twice while having a bye, but it didn't help Nebraska against Miami in 2001...nor Notre Dame against Bama in 2012...nor Ohio State against Clemson in 2016...all three of those bye teams got slaughtered...

umm...what? If we beat bama in the SECCG they would still go and we would not? Are you mental?

He’s trolling yall. Bamas OOC was the worst ive ever seen. Margin for error was only one loss IF they win the SECCG. Now appears to be do or die with the way the field is shaping up

The SEC agreed tot he terms, so if Alabama is left out of the CFP - then, oh well.

That is correct. You beat bama. Bama goes. UGA stays home, if everyone else wins out.
