Per the article, this group would have no say in any type of athletic department decision.

Just like donors - whether athletic or political - never have any sway over who they donate money to. No, the group who has a direct financial investment will have zero say or influence.

I wonder how much Landry is getting out of this deal? He is certainly leveraging the hell out of it.

So you're picking and choosing what to believe in this article.

Interesting.

I mean, there's a very real argument to be made that every company that goes public is either technically broke or it's principals want to dump their position at extraordinarily inflated prices to the ignorant public

It just is what it is at this point.

I'd prefer to go back to how it operated in 2008 if I had my say.

I just happen to live in the real world. No one is forking over $100 million without the expectation of getting something in return. With such a sizable investment those investors do expect to have some say on how their money is used.

Clearly things are different on the planet you are from.

Making this even slimier is how involved the governor is in the deal. But let me guess, you believe politicians never lie.

It's interesting how people believe the parts of the rumor that are convenient for them, and throw the rest out.

LSU is the ISIS of the SEC. They are now utilizing suicide bombers to try to destroy the whole thing.

You have been replying to Ole Miss and Alabama fans since 7:42 am this morning. Your response to this will be your 20th post today.

I do give you credit for waking up before lunch like many LSU fans.

LINK
Report linked in the OP is false, according to this

quote:

Multiple sources spoke with LouisianaSports.net on condition of anonymity. One consistent message is that LSU is not pursuing a traditional private equity deal. “This idea that there is a private equity deal inked is unequivocally false,” said one source. “LSU is not interested in traditional private equity.”

quote:

Harvey was referring to a report from RedEyebr.com. When asked if the report was accurate, one source said, “Absolutely not.” Gov. Landry told those in attendance he had been approached by more than 50 private equity firms interested in investing in LSU athletics and he turned them all down.

If this goes through how much longer will they even be known as the LSU Tigers?

PE is going to want to squeeze every dime possible so a shitload of sponsor patches, stadium naming rights, and even the name of the team are going to be sold by those scum.

Won't be long until the PE is hiring and firing the AD, Head Coaches and placing inept son of one the Directors from the board as an assistant coach. If true, LSU just gave up control of their program. Think George Steinbrenner and the New York Yankees. They will be going through coaches like corn through a goose.

Well, the few actual insiders privy to the concept are excited, call it a game changer, and are convinced this is going to lead to LSU dominating recruiting.

On the other hand, the SEC Rant, chief audit executives and chief compliance officers of LSU athletics, are convinced LSU is fricked.****
