So... did your 2019 season turn out as you expected or hoped?

My guess is UK, Vols, Gators would be pleased.
Auburn not only got to enjoy a win over the Tide, they also snuffed out any chance for Bama to find a back door to the CFP. The ambivalence towards Gus is not going away.
aTm.....LMAO
Bama is surely disappointed. No Heisman. No SEC title etc but it says something to be disappointed at 11-2.
You could say the same about UGa.
I doubt any of the other programs had realistic expectations.
Obviously LSU exceeded my expectations in every way.

In typical Gus Malzahn fashion, 2019 did not go how I expected it to, while still going exactly how I expected it to.

I always hope to go 8-4 or so, and expect 6-6. So no, 4-8 was not what I expected or hoped.

I was disappointed. I was worried when we gave Coley the OC position but I never would have imagined our offense would be as pathetic as it was.

I started a preseason prediction thread. I pretty much nailed the outcome. Head over and scroll back a few pages on the AU board.

Week 2 - the end is near, fire everyone
After Bowl game - pretty happy about the potential of next season to make some noise

If you had told me 8-5 before the season I think I would have been happy with that,. But the way we reached 8-5 was weird as hell

Beating Bama was fantastic. No doubt about it.

Seeing offensive talent squandered was painful.

Seeing one of the great defenses in Auburn football history go to waste was pure agony.

Yeah this was not how I expected it, but it was what I expected. If that makes sense.

Yes, I fully expected to beat Bama and get totally embarrassed the very next game by a rodent team.

I called 11-1 for UGA with another loss in the SECCG.

The defense was better than I expected, and the offense was much worse than I expected.

Beating Florida, Auburn, and Tech and going 12-2 with a Sugar Bowl win used to be a great season in my book, but I don't think I'll be satisfied until they get over the hump.

I'm pretty happy with how OM's season ended.

Partly. I expected to have a bunch of crippling LB injuries but I did not expect to lose our quarterback and fricking kicker

I was pretty well banking on a losing season when we made it all the way down to Bowden at QB.

Couldn’t be more pleased.

Expected a top-4 team. Despite all of the injuries, it might’ve still been true

Luke got canned and we hired a real coach so, it turned out better than I had hoped.

I just realized how insane it is to be disappointed in a 11-2 season.

A more profound statement was never made.
