Facts mean nothing to this crowd.

Yea but can stats highlight 2 whole plays throughout an entire game and use them to push a narrative?

7.6? Wow... can't imagine what it would be without the REC

Your right. What was I thinking.

what am I supposed to be looking at here?

Don't you think if the REC and Birmingham were in cahoots they would be smart enough to at least call some garbage time and unimportant penalties to make the yardage look even? So bozos like you could half-wittedly make terrible posts to the SEC Rant like you just did?

Rather have three false start penalties when up by 20 then a bs offsides penalties in the national title game which leads to a crucial TD

Can I get a TLDR?
Alabama ranks 111 in the penalties called on their opponents.

Who cares man. Let it go, nothing you say will change the loser mentality on this board.

without clicking your link, I can GUARANTEE you I have observed the following over 40+ years of watching SEC football:
1) a surprisingly large quantity of VERY influential calls that FAVOR Alabama during the first 2-3 quarters of numerous important games
2) a decent amount of "make-up" calls in the second half (particularly 4th quarter) that even-out the penalty statistics, but WELL after the Alabama victory is all but certain.

It's the timing of calls not the amount of calls.

Context and the penalties themselves don't matter, just the penalties per game

The referees haven't thrown a single flag on Alabama in games against any teams currently ranked in the AP poll. That's indefensible.

Looks to me like Alabama is just a very undisciplined team this year. Tends to happen when the coach is about to leave.

Refs know how to pad stats too in garbage time.

Does bama get so rattled on the road that they really have almost twice as many penalties called on the road than at home?? OR when playing at home, they get the homer calls from their buddies at HQ just down the road?

THIS! These refs are amazing at orchestrating wins for Bama. From an outsider's perspective, it LOOKS like Bama gets flagged as much or more than anyone. But, some super sleuth LSU fans showed me that the refs are actually all Bama fans and are members of a secret organization that analyzes the effects of penalties called at certain times in a game, and use their findings to win games for Bama, all at game speed. It's really an unbelievably coordinated group of geniuses. And they somehow manage to keep any rogue dissenters from entering the REC Ref Club.
