With a $44,000,000 deficit last year, a projected $26,000,000 this year, LSU is obviously not paying its bills. Hmmm basic math…$70,000,000 of red ink last year and this year. Lane’s drunken NIL spending spree looming. $150,000,000 owed to ex coaches and athletic directed. Wow…an athletic department losing a quarter of a billion dollars is in “great shape and has little worried about money…” “Flagship of the SEC?” That 202 place US News college ranking for the year, after tumbling 33 spots is second to last in the SEC. That third to last endowment in the SEC, your very poor academics are hardly “flagship” level. LMAO Yall still don’t get it. As a university you are beyond pitiful. As the other pro football team in the state, you haven’t been anymore than the Saints the last few years.

FY 2025 Financials detailed below.
Take a look at the Contributions line item where TAF makes the Athletic Department whole.
That $44 million budget deficit becomes a $3.8 million surplus.

I misread the original article in thinking the first budget deficit referenced was for FY 2025 and the next for FY 2026.
The financials below are related to FY 2025.
The $44 million budget deficit referenced is related to FY 2026. We’ll have to wait and see what the actual contributions were from TAF to see if the budget deficit was resolved with actual numbers.

Thanks. That is very useful. So based on those statements, LSU gets about 65 MM from its boosters, but those boosters do not directly pay any expenses.
That appears to be about 5th in the conference with Texas at the high end (167MM) and south Carolina at the low end of about 17MM. LSU seems to be about 7th in the conference on football revenue
Perhaps more important, what do you see as a trend? It looks like those contributions are declining by about 17 percent at LSU

For LSU, it basically all comes down to TAF (Tiger Athletic Foundation).
As long as TAF is doing fine and continues to have no problems fundraising, the LSU Athletic Department is fine.
TAF’s 12/31/2025 financial statements haven’t been publicly posted, yet, so not sure how things are looking going forward, but it doesn’t seem like TAF is struggling.

So we’ve gone 8 pages to find out that the LSU Athletic Department did not have an actual deficit and is self-sufficient, while the Ole Miss Athletic Department ran an actual deficit of $5.1 million while also taking $3.7 million in institutional support, lol.
It will be interesting to see how it all looks when 2026 numbers are released.
