In a landmark moment for the Senate Commerce Committee, the Protect College Sports Act is now moving to a full vote that has already started the lobbying.
As leaders from across college sports watched from afar, Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) held court during a markup session on Thursday that ultimately took aim at those within the SEC and Big Ten conferences

I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help.

I just read that entire shite article and it didn't quote a single thing from the Act

The P2 should break away before the Gov't can enforce this.

The bigger brands are going to leave the SEC and Big 10 eventually and make their own league. That’s all this bill is going to accomplish by preventing the SEC and Big 10 from leaving the NCAA
Ohio State
Michigan
Alabama
LSU
Georgia
Tennessee
USC
Oregon
Washington
Florida
Texas
Texas A&M
Penn State
Those programs have big enough fan bases and national appeal to make a league like that work. They will bring along a few others to have some variety I’m sure
Maybe get invites:
Michigan State
Auburn
Indiana
Ole Miss (yes this is bias)
Wisconsin
Kentucky (basketball mainly)
Ohio State
Michigan
Alabama
LSU
Georgia
Tennessee
USC
Oregon
Washington
Florida
Texas
Texas A&M
Penn State

This one does not fit.
When it comes to overall size of fanbase and how much attention these programs get on tv, here are your top programs (alphabetical order):
Alabama
Auburn
Clemson
Florida
Florida State
Georgia
LSU
Michigan
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Penn State
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M
That’s your top 15. USC, Nebraska, and Oregon generate enough interest and are the only west coast teams to have fanbases with a pulse… so they would probably be included.
Wisconsin, Iowa, Ole Miss, Arky, Missouri, South Carolina, Kentucky, Nebraska, Miami, Indiana, Washington, Colorado, North Carolina, and a few others would be next in line IMO.

We are about to experience some upheaval

Let’s be honest for a second, does western Michigan really need to be in the same division as Michigan? Or Akron and Ohio st? How about south Alabama and Alabama? A split has been needed for a while. Especially the way it’s already grouped with the top 50 teams mostly playing amongst themselves anyways.

Nah, you're going to get every B1G and SEC program that wants it, along with a few other strong programs. You'll need at least 30 football teams to sustain an independent league, and you'll need some collective bargaining, salary caps, and revenue sharing to make it fair.

All I need is Auburn in and everything is fine by me.
9 championships Auburn... that is.

The ACT would force the P2 to share revenue with the ACC and Big 12 but I'm hearing conflicting stories about the G6 so if anyone knows how they fit in.

Should be working on the Save America Act.

The P4 needs to break away and leave the G5 under the NCAA. The P4 would have the national exposure so we need all 4 conferences. The solution is never Government involvement.

Nah. Both struggle to get 40k fans into a football game. And yes, they are big basketball brands but very few people care about basketball for 50 weeks of the year. If a regular season basketball game hits 1 million viewers, it’s a big deal.
