Essential TV looks like a scam site. You really trust these guys?

I just have a feeling that this will end up getting axed over a media rights lawsuit.

ESPN is a bunch of northeasterners. They don't understand college football and what makes it great. Most of them think of it as the sport for flyover country so they actively despise it. Sankey should be tarred and feathered for turning our game over to Bristol, CT.

Yeah we should’ve sold our TV rights to the good southern folk of CBS, NBC, & Fox

CBS loved the SEC. What's your point?

Loved it so much that they dumped it for the B1G.

I think the SEC needs to get rid of all these cream puff games

Seems possibly illegal, but it's in the Apple App store. Might have to try it, but I don't see how they get away with PPV events being on there.

That's because it is illegal. They don't have licensing for basically any of that content which is why they can charge you 10 bucks a month or whatever stupid price it is. They are stealing the content using the IPTV protocol and then delivering it to you. If you do this you must setup a VPN first or you will bet setting yourself up for some hurt.

They got SEC rights for pennies on the dollar for 3 decades, I’m sure they did love that.

When it came time to make a market bid they didn’t love the SEC very much at all.

Get yourself an IPTV and step into the 21st century. I use Eternal TV but there are many to choose from. My IPTV player app on android is, Tivimate. On Apple I use IPTVX.

Tivimate has apparently been pulled from the android store and samsung store. The only thing remaining is the companion app.

There doesn't appear to be an IPTV for Android rated above a 2.8 and even those are getting some bad reviews for commercials pushed and $20+ monthly subscription fees processed through Chinese and Russian processing outlets. I'm not giving any credit card info to any of them.

ETA: After doing some research and asking around it appears that xtremehdiptv.org is the iptv choice for most android users.

I hate it too. But I bet Slive would have done the same thing if he were still in charge. I just hope it doesn't snowball into something much worse the next time the TV contracts expire again. The Big 10 is putting some of their games on some shitty app exclusively too. So it's not just Sankey caving into the madness.

Technically, if you're only streaming sports, use Kodi and install a sports addon. If i went to watch a show, I'll use a streaming app. Kodi has everything for free, if you set it up right.

The one cool thing about having an IPTV, is it had like 300 local channels. So in the winter I'd watch Bama games on a Minnesota CBS station, and all the ads would be about snow.

The new ESPN-ABC contract with the SEC starts in 2024. What we have now is the same we've had for a decade---its the last year of that contract.

The crappy games are the fault of the SEC schools who schedule crappy OOC games.

It has been like that for years. Your shitty non p5 games are on SN+ or on SECN at 3 right up against the CBS game. (If there is no other sec game to play).

But it hasn't. At least not for Alabama. I can't speak for any other Southeastern Conference team as I only went back to look at Alabama's previous TV schedule, but from the advent of the SEC Network in 2014, Alabama didn't play a single game on PPV, SEC Network+, or ESPN+ until 2022. With this new TV rights package, we're going back to the days pre-SEC Network where each team plays at least one PPV game per season.

In other words, we're going backwards.

I hate ESPN with every ounce of my being. They ruin every sport or event they touch(MNF, SEC, College Football). Not to mention their bs political crap they try to spew. I said it when the SEC did it, and I'll keep saying it. The ESPN deal was a major mistake. The Big 10 outdid us on this last contract. Period.

There hasn't been a ppv game for anybody in years.

And Alabama hasn't had one because Alabama gets whatever they want.

I believe they cap it at one streaming game a year per school. ESPN did that so us college football junkies would pay for that one game a year. If you get the SECN, you get SECN+ for free. It's the ESPN+ games that cost extra.

I don't think there has been an SEC home game that has been on ESPN+ that wasn't on SECN+. If it is an away game with a team in the American or Sun Belt it could be because that would fall under that conferences TV package and a lot of those teams have most of their games on ESPN+.

ESPN did not schedule all those garbage games. No one wants to watch a single one of the SEC+ games

While Mercer vs Ole Miss is an absolute garbage matchup, I most definitely would like to watch my team play.

I imagine the vast majority of people want to see their team play on opening weekend.
