A football coach had the power to have his school leave the conference (Bobby Dodds)

Tulane has fallen so far in the modern era

It took TAMU 100 years to realize SWC and B12 were the wrong place to hang their hat

Georgia Tech was once a force in the SEC.

Auburn is more East than Tuscaloosa, yet is also in the "West"

2008 - Florida.

Almost 10 years.

Alabama-Tennessee and Georgia-Auburn has never been the matchup in the SECCG.

Nor LSU-Florida...none of the permanent crossovers have ever had a rematch in the SECCG

This, to me, might be the most unbelievable statistic in the SEC. What are the chances that the Big 6 have combined to play in the SEC Championship Game 43 times..... 18 of the 25 SEC Championship Game have featured two Big 6 teams.... yet not one time has it been one of the Big 6 cross divisional main rivalries.

Auburn and A&M have yet to beat each other when playing at home.

I don't think it's too far fetched to believe that a rematch of a permanent crossover rivalry hasn't happened yet. That loss in the regular season puts a team at a big disadvantage to get to the SECCG considering its typically a strong conference.

That's only partly true.

It is true of the current permanent crossovers, but prior to the 2003 season, each team had two permanent crossover rivals. Auburn/Florida was an annual crossover game until 2003, and they rematched in the 2000 SECCG.

It is also very surprising their men have multiple Natty's in basketball but their women have never been to a Final Four and only 2 Sweet Sixteens.

Bigger shocker is Gator volleyball

27 appearances
7 Final Fours
0 Natty's

First, that's not true. Second, how many of those can AU claim?
