ennessee had 5 losing seasons in 6 years between '08 and '13 and didn't win more than 7 games for 7 consecutive years.

UT had the same number of losing seasons from 2005 through 2013 as they did from 1925 through 2004.

LSU has played football against Arkansas more times in their history than they have played Auburn, Kentucky Georgia, Tennessee or Vanderbilt.

Ole Miss has played football against Arkansas more times in their history than they have played Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn or Florida.

South Carolina has a similar history with Georgia, having played UGA more times than several SEC charter members have.

From a history standpoint, both teams were the absolute best fit.

TAMU has a similar history with LSU, and of course an old history with Arkansas.

This is why Mizzou will feel strange for the next 20+ years. They have zero history with anybody in the Southeast, while the other additions had developed a history prior to becoming members.

Arkansas and Ole Miss have played every single year since 1981. There aren't a lot of people in either fan base who can remember years when the two teams didn't play each other.

Georgia and South Carolina have played each other every year since 1974, except '90 and '91.
