Started the tournament with 20% of the field being SEC. Currently, 25% of the field is SEC.

The SEC made up 22% of the original 64, have made up 25 % of the final 8. Seems good to me.

For us it was a combination of choking along with the team never quite recovering from the loss of spencer. no excuses though. We had no business losing to that team the way we did. It happens. On to next year. I'll root for the SEC teams in Omaha, however.
Great post . There’s a longhorn poster who’s screen name is menu . He should take notes from you.

good stuff bigD -
didn't wanna start a thread - but yesterday some were lamenting the ACC was undervalued vs and the SEC overvalued -
turns out the Postmortem Pac 12 with Arizona Oregon State & UCLA will put more teams in Omaha than any other conference this summer -
the ACC was not undervalued - even if Duke manages to advance tonight - that conference will only land 2 teams max in Omaha - and Louisville was playing in Omaha before it ever joined the ACC - most notable is all 3 ACC national seeds are out -
Vanderbilt is a crap shoot under Corbin in regionals - 20 NCAAT since 2004 and 9 times they've failed to advance - but when they do they usually do well after - it's kinda a phenomenon at this point with Corbin & regionals -
State had the toughest road regional - and based on their late season coaching changes - acquitted themselves well all things considered -
Alabama hasn't wanted any smoke from USM since they got Favre'd on the gridiron - so no surprises in Hattiesburg -
Kentucky's coach cost them dearly in the winner-take-all game v WV with his pitching changes - wth?

Corbin being their coach doesn’t excuse them failing that badly. First #1 overall seed since 64-team expansion to miss a regional final

Georgia and Vandy just folded during the supers.

This is a stupid way to think about it. 6 of the 13 SEC teams were top 8 national seeds. The SEC was clearly overvalued.

I agree it’s a stupid way to look at it. But don’t agree it implies they were all over valued. That’d be like saying Louisville deserved a top 8 just because they made it to the CWS. It’s more of an anomaly more than anything.

There are only 4 of the national seeds left. Two of them, 50%, are from the SEC. The other two are Oregon State and Coastal Carolina. Based on your logic, every conference but the Sun Belt was overvalued.

Curious... Where does the ACC fit into your picture? They overvalued too?
It's pretty simple... If you perform worse (better) than your seeding, then you're conference was over(under)valued.

The answer is a resounding YES!!!

Seedings are based on regular season performance. Do you think the seedings were wrong?

Just want to thank Arkansas for preventing the stain that is Tennessee baseball from going any further.

Ole Miss would've played UGA in the SR so it couldn't have been an all SEC final.

I’m not following this overrated talk I’m seeing.
The SEC got 13 teams into a field of 64. That’s 20.3125% of the field.
8 teams make Omaha. 20.3125% of 8 is 1.625. The SEC got 2 in. If you’re into rounding, they are spot on, and if you don’t like rounding, they overperformed.
