That is correct, because they bring in a lot of money and win championships, which means they won’t be in a pod with Georgia. That would be a huge problem for the conference and Georgia

These are the correct pods.

Two pods make a division. Rotate partner pods every 2 years (home and home) so you are in a division with everyone every 6 years. Have a permanent rivalry from each pod that you play every year, (regardless of your pods being the same division or not). Play a total of 9 games. You see everyone 2 out of 6 years.

What does this mean for the SEC championship game?

Winners of Pod 1 and 4 play
Winners of Pod 2 and 3 play

Winners are in the SEC championship game

The best way is for The SEC to add a 9th conference game. Then there should be 4 pods and every team has a cross pod permanents in each of the other 3 pods. Scheduling would then be a team with 3 POD mates, 3 permanents teams, and 3 rotating pod teams for the 9 games. This helps maintain all traditional rivalries and makes for fairer scheduling.

Each student will play every SEC team in 3 years of play. So even the best players will have faced every SEC team at least once.

East POD UF, USC, UGA, KEntucky
Central Bama, AU, Tenn, Vandy
South LSU, aTm, Ole Miss, MSU
West Ark, Mizzou, OU, Texas

Bama would have UK, LSU, OU as Cross permanents
LSU would have Bama, UF, Ark
UF would have Tenn, LSU, Texas
UGA would have AU, ATm, OU

For the 1,000th time, UK fans will never accept being the only fan base that has to travel across another state to get to any of our pod rivals. You frickers can forget that.

Sec has never had 9 conf games......

9 conference games means one more loss for half the conference and results in lower rankings for half the conference, and hence weaker SOS for everyone, and hence lower rankings for everyone

Sec teams don’t know how good they have it with 8 conference games

so we don't crown an SEC champ in football?

We crowned champs or co-champs for almost a century before the championship game started in the 90s. We don't need the game if the playoffs are expanded.

There was like 8 teams in the conf. then. Conf. champs supposedly carry big weight with the playoff committee.

Say you have a three way tie for the conf. championship......all three have one loss. who gets the nod? A POD system is a clustermess waiting to happen.

I think Finebaum is full of shite. I think OU/Tex will join the West. Auburn/bama will move to the East. Auburn has more natural rivals in the East anyway. bama's two biggest rivals are Auburn/Tenn.. It is a win/win for everybody.

Yeah, Okie, I understand why this worries you. It doesn't bother us in the least.

And half the teams in the conference get one more win.

Not for us sitting there at 12-0 or 11-1. But yeah, those extra losses you're about to pile up against SEC teams instead of playing Big 12 creampuffs...Okie should be concerned.

Yep. I'm hearing divisions will likely be:

West - OU, Texas, A&M, Arky

South - LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St. Florida

North - Mizzou, Kentucky, Tenn, Vandy

East - Bama, Auburn, UGA, SCAR

Thats not how it is going to work

These replies kill me so dude u actually believe South Carolina has a better program than Auburn. Thats laughable and you know it. We don’t go by one year where our starting qb was out and we had become a shite show.
