If you are going to assign people permanent games anyway, then rather than pods, just make it so the teams keep only their permanent rivals and rotate all the rest.

This would work as well.

Not bad.

I think that would be a fun pod.

And selfishly, those are basically the three closest schools to Mizzou (technically Vandy is a hair closer than Oklahoma is).

If you move Mizzou West, Auburn/Bama East.

Auburn gets more of its natural rivalries back. Keeps the UGA game. Loses LSU.
Bama gets more natural rivalries back. Keep UT game. Loses LSU.
Divisions are still as even as you can ask for.
Don’t have to do perm cross division rivalries
LSU does lose Auburn/Bama/UF which sucks but they also keep a lot of natural rivals and get Texas OU.

Only other problem would be how often do you play teams from the other division. But that can get mitigated with 9-10 game SEC schedule. Since the “alliance” is probably not going to schedule SEC games we likely need those extra games anyways.

Bullshart

Dude is the most well connected to the SEC office of anyone and spent 90% of his career in Birmingham.

He was the first one hired @ SECN. He got his gig because of his close friendships with Roy Cramer, Mike Slive and Greg Sankey

Forget the pods, keep the divisions this way and
geographically true:
WEST
Mizzou, Arkansas, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma,
Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
EAST
Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn,
Georgia and Florida.

A four team pod is a division. Why do people keep saying this?

Is the 9th conference game a for sure thing? The way I see it is two divisions play each other during the regular season, plus one permanent rival game. The winter of those two divisions plays the winner of the other two divisions. The divisional matchups rotate every three years. You only need 8 conference games to make this happen. Your own division(3), the division you play that year(4), permanent rival(1). In the years you play the division your permanent rival is in you just get a random opponent from one of the other two divisions that season.

Year one

Mizzou Ole Miss
Arkansas Miss State
Oklahoma Texas A&M
Texas LSU

Vanderbilt Kentucky
Tennessee South Carolina
Alabama Georgia
Auburn Florida

The winner of both groups would play in the SEC Championship game.

Don't care who he knows.

When was his last big "scoop" or "breaking news?"

I get better information from this
place.

Paul repeats the status quo or dick rides the hottest team.Theres
no way he becomes a media "star" had he had to compete in a huge radio/TV market. Is there an easier gig than talking about CFB year round in Alabama? (I get that
he's in Charlotte for the SECN)
