If LSU rosters the ineligible former NFL players today, based on reporting by @CBSSports, I would expect the SEC to open an investigation into whether Lane Kiffin had a role in orchestrating the Louisiana lawsuit. That investigation wouldn’t be difficult and could be enhanced by having the subpoena power of the federal and state courts. If the reporting by @CBSSports is proven to be true with hard evidence, there is almost no limit to what the university presidents and Sankey could do to Lane and LSU - including barring Lane from coaching in the SEC.

Wait.

So, they sued Lane/LSU for something they haven't even investigated yet?

This conference is incompetent as frick.

Wonder if they will grant Ole Miss, Alabama, and UT immunity for delivering all the goods on the skeletons Lane has in his closet?

That would be a fun

They're gonna have to spend a lot of money on investigations if they are going to do this for every SEC team that has an NFL player on the field.

Why would the SEC be concerned about Lane's involvement in "orchestrating" the lawsuit? Didn't the SEC's actions directly affect his program and his players? It would only make sense that Lane was involved in the lawsuit in some shape, fashion, or form. It would be like LSU suddenly deciding to open an investigation to determine whether Sankey had a role in "orchestrating" the lawsuit against Kiffin and LSU. It makes no sense.

On a side note, can they define the term "orchestrating" with at least a little better objective definition than the way they define the term "professional"?

I love that you all think Lane is siting in his office connecting lawsuits and playing some game of nuclear 5-D chess.

Lane isn’t orchestrating lawsuits or any kind of scheme. Hes trying to get people that will help his team win, while preparing for his first game as LSU coach tomorrow.

Tom Mars is a moron.

In fairness to Tom Mars, he probably didn't expect the SEC to show up looking like an unprepared clown show.

I know I didn't.
