Texas 11-2 (even) - not ua
We expected to
*beat Michigan
*beat the three rivals
*lose to Georgia
*make the SEC CCG
Did all those. We hoped to
*win the SEC
*make a deep run in the CFP
We failed the first, and it remains to be seen on the second.

If we're talking about just coaching, I give Bama an A this year. DeBoer fielded a team that should have been selected for the playoffs while being greatly hindered by an entitled QB who I hope either transfers or figures out how to be coachable during the offseason.

Auburn was just 22 bad bounces and 14 unlucky Peyton Thorne interceptions away from being 9-3. They are a program on the rise!

Only the Sec champion gets an A, tier 1.

Someone at Bama pocketed the Learfield kickback and you are stuck with a Texas run clearing house for the next decade.
(The majority of the staff are Texans)
I don't expect Bama to be a step above anyone anymore.

I would like sometime to have a real discussion with no trash talk about why A & M always underachieves, It is a real Question

I think it's pretty simple actually.
They need a good Quarterback and a good Defense, but they haven't had both at the same time.
Sumlin ultimately had the Quarterbacks.. and in 2012, they had the defense too, just some back luck when they put it all together, it was too late. It slowly went downhill from there because he didn't have Sherman's recruits in the trenches anymore.
Fisher had Elko and the defense.. but he never had the QB. Mond was pretty good as a Senior in 2020, but that team was good.. but not great. They benefitted big time from the covid crowds imo. Elko left and it all fell apart.. no QB and no Defense.
I don't believe Elko is calling plays on defense, but I do think he plays a good scheme, so I think they'll eventually get there on defense. Idk if Klein is the answer at OC.. as ultimately it will be tough to find a QB who is willing to be a battering ram on offense. On top of that, they are horrible on the OL right now, so they need to get that fixed first.
1) Fix the OL
2) Find a Good QB
3) Play Elko's Defense
Sounds simple, but it will take several years to make it work. Does Elko survive if he never makes the playoff in the 1st 5 years?

I don’t know what people were smoking but LSU finished where they should have.
Are you LSU fans being serious?
You were ranked 13th in the preseason. You had the 8th most talented composite roster per 247 and the 7th most talented per On3. Your fans spent the entire offseason roaring about how you hired Baker away from Mizzou and would have an elite defense this season. Your own coach proclaimed that 2024 was LSU's breakout year, and I am happy to link the lengthy Tiger Rant thread about it if needed.
And here are the preseason predictions from your own fans:

Exactly three of you predicted 8-4. Nobody, not one fan predicted worse than 8-4. 55 of you predicted better than 8-4. Lots of 11-1 in there. And yet I keep seeing your fans act like 8-4 was somehow expected despite the fact that literally 95% of you expected a better season than that.
And that would be fine, but I've seen several threads shitting all over Mizzou for a 9-3 season.
Posted on 12/10/24 at 10:36 am to TrueLefty
As a Mizzou alum, I feel that 9-3 was a B season for them. Mizzou doesn't win 9 games very often, with a chance at 10. Disappointed because expectations were high but reality said we'd have to win on the road at SC, BAMA, or A&M, and we didn't. Solid B

These days, every team lives and dies by its QB. Milroe's issue has been consistency. That being said, his skillset just doesn't match up to what DeBoer is supposed to be good at offensively. I really hope he's working on making his offense work with another QB.
Posted on 12/10/24 at 12:31 pm to theballguy
My most puzzling opinion of this year is why DeBoer and his staff failed to adapt after the Vandy game and continued the same old same old.
I leave this year asking, “ Is DeBoer and his staff up to competing with Sarkisian, Smart, Huepel, Kelly,Kiffan , Venerables not to say up and coming coaches like Beamer and you guessed it, “ Billy “fooled you” Napier.
There are a lot of really good Coaches and staffs in the SEC. As a fan who gives no money and whose opinions mean shite, I give him 3 more years to win an SEC championship and be back competing for Nattys.
This year could end up really well and honestly better than anticipated if we can beat Michigan.
I hope some of you loser fan bases can one day experience what Bama Nation feels after this year. If you somehow do, it means you would have won six National Championship's and lived through a Dynasty, You will have experienced what any fan wants to experience. VICTORY!
So, good luck to all the playoff teams this year. Remember that when Georgia wins it all, Bama beat them.

I wish the fans of our farm team were smarter.

I stopped reading here as no one with a brain thought LSU's defense would be elite.
Most media predictions had LSU in the 9-3 or 8-4 area and they went 8-4.
No reason to lie.

Honestly? Most of the reasonable Alabama fans i saw, said they expected 2-3 losses. I think it's not the losses that hurt, but who the losses were to, and the way they happened that got to most Bama fans.
