It would take a wizard at negotiation but give us 3 perms and 2 we see every other year and rotate the rest.
This is the same result with a 9 game conference schedule.
3 / 6 = 3 / 1 / 5
If it remains at 8 games, then there would be a difference.
3 Perm
1/2 Play 2 Teams 5x Every 10 Years
3/10 Play 10 Other Teams 3x Every 10 Years

If people would agree to a 9 game pod system, you would get 3 perms every year and play home and homes with every other team in the conference every 4 years. But agreeing on the pods is the issue.
This is the best imo. I also heard pods would be reconsidered every 3 years.
You’re right though. Figuring out the 3 permanent is impossible

No, needs to be wide open to facilitate teams playing each other more often in such a big conference. Need to do away with SECCG because top two will be in playoffs, regardless. Needless game; nothing more than money grab. With playoff games now don’t need that extra game on top of 12 game schedule.

Objectively this is the best system.

I hate it that 3 or 4 weeks of the season is wasted on playing directional schools to "tune up"....free those games up for more games that matter.

Wait until bid thievery comes, it will, you’ll have an undefeated Miami get knocked of by 9-3 Louisville or a 9-3 kstate knocks off an undefeated Utah. One bid leagues will become two bid. Won’t happen every year but it’s going to happen.

Choosing a system that gets rid of DSOR is most definitely not the best system.
3 / 6 with 2 Divisions of Teams = a better solution imo
The Divisions are for Scheduling Only
DIVISION A - 8 Teams
DIVISION B - 8 Teams
3 Permanent Opponents
1 from your same Division, 2 from the other Division
That leaves 6 Non-Permanent Opponents in Each Division
You Play 6 from Same Side in "X" Years
You Play 6 from Other Side in "Y" Years
Easy scheduling. Fair & Balanced. All Critical Rivalry games get played.
This system 100% works.

Texas and UGA could play 3 times this year. That works in the NFL but not college. We need to lose the SEC champ. game.
No divisions but 2 permanent rivals.

Of course money will decide which way it ends up but do y'all prefer open schedule like now or 4-team divisions?
I prefer a 9 game conference schedule with 3 permanent opponents and 6 rotating opponents.
With this schedule each SEC team would play the 3 permanent teams 4 times in a 4 year window and would play each of the 6 rotating teams twice in a 4 year window.
This to me is ideal. You play every opponent regularly and are able to maintain a couple of important rivalries.

I'm against divisions in the SEC because it gave Georgia an unfair advantage.

That's like being against conferences because playing in a weak Big 10 gave OSU an advantage.

No to divisions or pods (which are simply rotating divisions). Divisions mean that you will sometimes get mismatches in the conference championship game.
Hopefully, sanity prevails and we go to a 9 game, 3/6 schedule.

it's fun to see OSU fans dickride Michigan.
Does it feel good? Riding that big blue unit?
And unlike OSU we're undefeated against Michigan in the last 3 seasons. We're undefeated against OSU too. UGA is undefeated against the Big 10 for the last 5 years. And the ACC. And the Big 12. And every conference other than the SEC.
In fact the last time UGA lost to a team that is not currently part of the SEC was Georgia Tech in 2016. And they used to be a SEC team.
Before that was a decade ago when UGA lost to Nebraska in a bowl game in the 2013 season.

If you watch these threads, you’d think aTm. There’s a lot of back and forth between these groups.
Aggies are just the most annoying online. I dont deal with them in person enough to have an opinion there.

My personal opinion is I don't like playing the Aggies very year. They are just a whiny wait till next year school. I would prefer replacing them with a team that is traditionally a good team every year.

No real hatred for Bama. I’d say we dislike Florida more but maybe that’s just me.
Intereseting since I've heard many LSU & Fl. fans say they don't care about their rivalry game.
