Their offense is very Donovan-esque revolving around one elite big who can finish inside or drive to the rim with four shooters around him with three guards and a stretch four. They're constantly running on-ball screens and moving the ball around the perimeter. It's not fast-paced, but it's NBA stuff
I think they're Final Four good

Good for him. Like I said, I'll always root for the guy. Just an awesome man and family.

Playing five guards is definitely going to matter against a team with an Azubuike or Blackshear, lmao
Maybe so. If it gets to that point though I will be very happy considering this is year one under Musselman.
On the other hand, people said this same stuff about Auburn last year and look how that turned out. I remember it because I was one of them.
Adrio Bailey does a good job defending the post. He's a good rim protector.

Auburn didn't play five guards
It can work offensively. It's just going to be tough rebounding and defending against teams with high-major size

Yes it will be. No doubt about it. The one game we lost was to the team that had the best big we have faced.
We need Bailey and Chaney to stay out of foul trouble.

I dont know why people pretend AU didnt have any good bigs last year, they had a few. Wiley, Okeke and McLemore

I think it's funny Auburn wasn't getting as much love preseason after the finish they had last year.

I think you are referring to Auburn two years ago. They still had more size than our current team but a good comparison.
Musselman isn't going to try running 5 guard sets with an elite big in the paint. It was a unique combination that led to that situation. I more worry about the team with with tall, athletic 4. Someone who can guard Mason somewhat effectively, rebound and score around the basket. We are not going to see that often but that creates the worst match up for us. Bailey in general will be able to hold his own at the 5 on the defensive end.

I did not see the game but figured you would. I don’t see you making a deep tourney run without the size as teams make you play half court in the NCAA’s.
Have you watched Arkansas at all this year?
Arkansas doesn’t play fast and plays half court offense, in your face defense.

Buzz was saying last night that the reason Arkansas is able to make it work without a 5 is because they place a lot of emphasis on owning the elbow of a defense. That they're able to deny all passes very well.
What concerns me are the teams that have not only a good big man, but about 3 very good guards to compliment that. Arkansas is susceptible to getting burned on the back side of their defense via great ball movement around the perimeter. But there aren't going to be just too many teams out there with that many guards who are better than our guards.
On offense you can create all sorts of problems with the lineup Arkansas likes to run. Jo3 can take the ball off the dribble, but I think it's by design that he doesn't. His role is to space the defense out, fill holes, catch and shoot. Jones is a killer and compliments a player like Jo3 very well. Jones will shake a defender out of his shoes which creates the need to help on ball defense and leaves Jo3 open. Weak side defense has to be on point to stop those two. After that all you need is one more shooter to get going and it's lights out, bar the door.

With the new recruits coming in next season, we'll finally get to the sweet 16.

I think we would be a Sweet Sixteen team with this roster if Vanover had gotten a waiver.
Sure would be nice if Musselman could keep both Joe and Jones one more year.

Lost Brown, Harper, Okeke, Spencer and Dunbar. All those guys contributed. I wasn’t real high on us preseason either.
