That's not going to cut it in the SEC and it's not going to cut it against Big 10 competition

DeBoar must have gone to the Jerry Jones School of Hiring

And Arky knows good football when they see it. It's always an opponent, but they know it when they see it.

DeBoer and his staff are known for being pass heavy, it's just what they do.

It is weird that Seattle's offense was supposedly really good, yet he got fired after one season.

I wouldn't say it was really good. It was definitely up and down.

The weirdest thing to me is that Macdonald clearly wants an offense that mirrors what he had with the Harbaughs at Michigan and Baltimore (run first, ball control, etc)......and then hired a coach who runs a scheme that clearly does not fit that at all. I don't know if they thought Grubb could adjust, if he thought he wanted to open it up more but then realized he didn't or what. But the complaints were mainly how the offense was run, which appeared to be run pretty similar to the way the guy has always run an offense. So I'm not sure what the expectation from Macdonald was.

Their offensive line was pretty bad, but it didn't help that Grubb ran passing concepts with 0 spacing between routes.

If I was a RB at Alabama, I would definitely be concerned and thinking about a team with a better fit for RB.

If you take Milroe's attempts out, Bama was near the bottom of CFB in rushing attempts last season.

Even with Milroe, they were midrange.

More of those attempts likely would have gone to RBs since we ran Milroe like a RB, but we are certainly not going to be running the ball 40 times a game.

It's a shock that this guy is upset that Alabama hired a universally well thought of college coordinator. Shocking I tell you.

Likely. I think it's a great hire. Both guys have had their best results when working together.

I'm not sure if many Bama fans will appreciate the offensive approach but it's been relatively successful at their other stops.

Not worried. He had a1100yard back at Washington in Dillon Johnson from Mississippi. That was one of the reasons Deboer was able to get the #2 back in 2025 recruiting class in AK Dear also from Mississippi.

I don't see any NFL defenses he'll be going against on the college level. The best team in college would get absolutely destroyed by the worst team on the NFL level.

They averaged something like 118 YPG rushing that year so they do run, it just isn't much.

They were 14th in total offense and 18th in scoring offense with Geno Smith at QB and a below average OL. Grubb knows what he is doing.
