It’s a pretty glorious day for everyone not in College Station.
At the end of the day man, it’s just baseball. I love it but if there’s a sport that you can afford to have a bad few years in as an AD, it’s that

It was a dick move by Texas and Schloss, but as a poster pointed out in another thread, how upset were you when A&M bought "the greatest recruiting class of all time" a few years ago? My guess is that you were here celebrating it with the rest of the Aggie fans.
Texas and A&M have been engaged in these petty feuds for years. Every move the other makes is in reaction to something the other has done, and neither of you seem to realize that it never gets you anywhere. The OU's of the conference are going to keep kicking your arse on the field while the two of you are more concerned over squabbling about petty bullshite. By all means, keep it up.

Yeah...
Speak for your own school.

College athletics is broken, but this move is just one in a long line of examples.
You all buying that recruiting class a few years ago comes to mind. At that time, you guys were beating your chest about being rich and running the SEC.

Why didn't your program match the offer?
A&M must not be as rich as they claim.
Now that I'm thinking about it, over the last year I'm sure boosters have had enough. From the Jimbo buyout, throwing money away at the #1 class and finally Schloss leaving, I doubt they'll feel very compelled to donate as much.

Well...ok, since you were polite.
I don't like that costs $10 to get a beer at Faurot.

Agree with your assessment on this issue. Most people on the rant agree with you about the entire picture of college sports and how it has changed and prolly not for the best. As one poster said, Aggies will field a team next year and with the facilities and being in the SEC the talent level will get back to where it was in a short amount of time. Aggies need to look in lower ranks and pluck out a diamond for a coach.

Boo fricking hoo. Try rooting for a school that actually has limited resources. A&M is just incompetent

Funny how you didn't feel this way when y'all stole Schloss from TCU.
Also incredibly ironic considering your bought and paid for 2022 recruiting class.

You know another reality of CFB now? When a team is doing well, everything is fine, but when they aren’t, the entire system is broken and needs to be torn down and rebuilt, possibly.
Rinse, repeat.
Rinse, repeat.

It's baseball.
I just don't care all that much. It's interesting but it doesn't actually matter. It's a non-revenue sport.

OP has a valid point as the deal implies players and just about the entire staff.. that’s not what College sports was about.
Still there is some hypocrisy in all of this as JS left TCU also in a shady way but no Aggie shed a tear then.

The PoS didn't bring a single coach with him to College Station. Try again.

It all we have heard for years is Aggies have so much money. Yeah, GFY arrogant Aggies.

Agree with the OP. Not good for the sport.
There was a time not too long ago when fans invested interest in watching a young player improve across the seasons. That's a rarity now. IOW, the school and teams and players were synonymous.
And IMO, the game was better when that was a part of it.

You act like a precedent for that wasn't set within the past few months at Arkentucky.
WGAF. Most of the posters here are too young to understand rivalries or traditions. It's all about what's good for your supported team no matter what it costs financially or otherwise.
