I will remind you that this is an SEC rule that all the SEC schools agreed to.

Look, this has nothing to do with Baylor. He could still go anywhere else. Sabam is not bitching at him for dropping baylor, I can assure you.

And I've agreed multiple times with Bama fans ITT thread. I wouldn't want a DB leaving LSU for UGA either TBH.

What is this rule? Wouldn't Bama rather have Auburn lose? That part seems kinda strange

This is an Auburn player who wanted to leave and Gus put restrictions on where he could go. It was in response to the notion that somehow Saban is the only one who doesn't like the idea of his players transferring within his league.

Conspiracy theory:

Kirby Smart set this up. It's all upside for him. If Saban doesn't release him, the national narrative is that Saban is a dick. If Saban does release him, UGA gets another good DB.

That's the beauty of it all. He doesn't have to.

In fact, he can't. That would be tampering.

Saban versus Kirby

“So you make the choice about what’s best for the child, if you truly care about the kid. Because knowing he’s not happy here, the next-best option for him is going to a program where he’s the most comfortable, where he can have a level of success that he believes he can have.”

That quote was not Saban or Kirby, it was the mother.

If he wants to transfer to any school outside the SEC, he can do it and play immediately. If he wants to transfer inside the SEC, he has to sit out a year, per the conference rules. Saban doesn't want to make an exception, and why should he? End of story.

How does she know he'll be happy at Georgia? She can't use that as an excuse after letting him go to Alabama where I assume he thought he'd be happy.

That said, I don't care where he ends up.

It's no conspiracy theory Crow...the nation has known Nick Saban is dick for years.

We have a jackass, dickhead for a coach - but DAMN he knows how to run an elite program in the toughest conference in the country.

If his complaint is that he is tired of being a situational role player at Bama and wants to start to showcase his skills, Baylor would be a good place to go. Yeah I know its a shite show with Briles getting canned but he is playing in a P5 league against top programs like Texas, OU, TCU etc.

She makes it sound like he's been fricking miserable the last 4 yrs playing on multiple championship teams with the best defense in the country. WTF Momma?

Why set the precedence that kids come to Bama, learn the skills from there, then go elsewhere?

Not much difference than a non-compete clause.

He is a student athlete who can't make money using his likeness because this is about education, and not a business. If he wants to get a graduate degree somewhere else I think he should be able to go anywhere he wants. He should be eligible to play because it is "amateurs" playing the game. Seems kind of hypocritical to not let him play anywhere he wants.
