People can bitch about all these shite games but only Saban and Gus have voted yes on a 9 game conference schedule. Hell the entire big 10 voted no on it a few years ago and Delaney said frick you we are going 9 games.

How dumb can you be? $aban never made it a secret about his desire to be an NFL HC.

Again, money was no factor.

It is hardly only UA. The dynamic is 1 quality, 3 schit teams or 1 quality, 1 mediocre, 2 schit teams for all conferences not playing a 9 conference game schedule.

If CFPs expand to afford the ability to overcome more losses from quality opponents, we may see a change. Until then, it is what it is.

The only scheduling formula needed is a 9 game conference schedule.

The teams that don't want to are those with "permanent" non conference rival games. Georgia, South Carolina, Florida. A 9 game SEC schedule makes it really hard for them to schedule another non-conference series or kick-off games.

Saban was among the highest paid head coaches in 2000. There wasnt as much money in the business back then

The only problem you have with that statement is the fact that in the last 10+ years (except 2013) Alabama has either played the national title winner or been the national title winner. Couple that with playing top P5 teams from other conferences to start the year, and Alabama SOS is pretty good (top 10 at least every year)

If the fans still come out, still pay the ticket price, still tune in, seems par for the course nowadays.

Bama fans are sick of Alabama playing shite OOC teams at BDS just like everyone else is. Yesterday we added UT-Martin for 2020 and today this. It's pathetic.

I doubt there are many P5 teams out there who are willing to schedule Alabama. I wish we could decline. It's probably getting very difficult to fill out 4 OOC games.

At this point Bama needs to be paying conference opponents to play them as well.

I think every other year you would play more away games than home games. That's not good for revenue.

What a powerful schedule LSU has signed for in the next few years. It is a good example for all SEC teams to man up. Oh, here is 2022 projected, not finalized yet.

2022
- New Mexico
- Vasser
- East Vermont

But then L12 will have to play Auburn, Miss State, A&M, Arky, etc... have I left anyone out?. I wonder who will be coaching the last in the West LSU program then?

New Mexico is the only one on lsusports.net in 2022. I knew Anthony Bourdain was in the first co-ed class at Vasser but I didn't know they had football. Never heard of East Vermont. L12....GFY!

The addition of NMSU tentatively completes the non-conference schedule for Alabama in 2021. The Crimson Tide are scheduled to open the 2021 season in Atlanta on Sept. 4 against the Miami Hurricanes. Three weeks later on Sept. 25, Southern Miss is slated to visit Tuscaloosa.

Alabama is also scheduled to host Mercer in 2021 on a date to be announced.

In SEC play in 2021, Alabama is scheduled to host Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee and travel to Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M.

So our home schedule for 2021 is going to be Southern Miss, Mercer, Arky, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee?

Good Lord, what a pathetic slate of opponents! There won't even be one game at home worth attending.

A lot can happen between now and 2021. It's too far away to judge the home schedule.
