Wow dude, UF did it once, in basketball not in football, with the halcyon days of UF in the major sports being 2006-2008 (where you won 4 NC in the two sports). Besides that, one NC in football (96) and 1 NC in baseball (17), for a total of 6 in the major sports

Bama fans do not talk about basketball unless they’re good. Same as Auburn.
Does it apply to you? Maybe not but it applies to the fanbase as a whole.
Well this highlights the inherent stupidity of "fanbase" arguments and discussions - I am unsure why many on this board think they are valid. I assume it is largely due to their ease of use in internet arguments and/or trolling, so perhaps I am not as uncertain as first stated.

It matters...just not as much as football. That's true across all of the SEC. Except Kentucky. And MAYBE Arkansas but I have a sneaky suspicion they'd take a title in football over basketball.

If I have a pie of give-a-shite, 90% of it goes to football. The 9 percent goes to MBB. 1 percent goes to everything else.
I, like some others, was jealous of the Aubie's Final Four run, but was also entertained by it and maybe secretly enjoyed you beating all the blue bloods on the way there. But I did NOT want you to win it all and was happy when you lost.
At the end of the day, your Final Four run has about as much meaning and permanence as Alabama losing to Ohio State and Clemson in the playoffs--no trophy, so it doesn't matter.

Alabama is the 35th winningest program in College basketball. The fans actually care a great deal.
Coach Bryant cared and realized we needed a strong Bball team. He actually went to NY with the team for the NIT Final 4..and sat on tbe bench. This was when the NIT really mattered and was probably a better tournament.
Back during the CM Newton , Wimp days..Memorial Coliseum would pack out for games.
Are Bama fans rabid like KY fans? Nope..but if the team has a pulse, the fans will come. Always have..
