So, we should expect a very low presence from Gamecock fans today as they will be busy having spontaneous orgasms in joy over the news.
Every AD falls out of favor with the fans, but for years now about the nicest thing I've seen USC fans say about Tanner is along the lines of "Well, we are pretty sure he isn't a cannibal. Pretty sure."

Go get Alpert, the No. 2 at UTK. From Columbia, graduated from USC undergrad. Has worked at UTK, Mizzou, and Memphis.

maybe. Lamont is doing quite well right now, and everyone was really happy with the soccer and softball hires.

We all knew that when he was hired. The goal of Mainieri is to get the program back to a solid foundation so that he can hand it over to Lee in 3 years.
Not saying I like the hire, but no one was expecting Mainieri to be here for a decade or anything.

I doubt it. I think it’s just odd timing for an announcement like this because that’s what Ray Tanner does. Making a mess of his own retirement is so perfectly Ray, it’s like his final gift to the university.

He is giving really advanced notice and hanging around like 6 months. If you were going to transition to a new AD this is a good way to go. It shouldn't be rushed at all. Now if he had been fired or abruptly stepped down...that would be bad
