It appears that the SECN is going to make even more money than most of us thought.
In this article, Foxsports says it will bring in 550 million in subscriber revenue in the first year.
In this article the following rates are given:
I expect that coaching salaries will continue to skyrocket, especially for top OC and DCs. I also expect the facility wars will continue. With the ubiquity of on-demand programming, sports is one of very few live-event advertising avenues left, and they've never been worth more.

looks like the Tejas network is a big failure. don't you just hate that?

I'm so glad we got to stomp their asses not only in Austin but on their precious network

The damage control on the SB Nation article is hilarious

A fairer comparison might be LHN to the other single school networks. Oh wait there aren’t any. This was an experiment by ESPN, probably a failure economically. The blow back of big12 disintegration can only partially be blamed on the network. More caused by Dodds arrogance and short sightedness as well as the others looking to GTFO

Seems like Missouri's TV sets played a large part in the value of the SECN

If Texas had half a brain they would end the longhorn network and set up a Big 12 network.
Outside of Texas, nobody gives a rat's arse about Texas.

How is that damage control? They said LHN failed and it ended up blowing up the conference. I don't see any positive spin

Imagine the potential of the SECN if we could get a few more marketable basketball programs going...

The SECN might help in that regard, getting us both money to get and keep top coaches, and exposure to help with recruiting. We'll see.

If we could land UVA/VT and Duke/UNC/NCSU it would add another 17+ million to our footprint. That's where the biggest oppertunity to get more $$ comes from.

This is a good point. Sports programming is literally the only live TV I watch except for occasionally the news. Everything else is either recorded, and skip the commercials or on NetFlix.

Does the SEC network get carried in Germany?

I think those rates numbers are off. Some of them like the SECN are showing national rate as overall avg. And some like the LHN are showing out of footprint rate. I've seen the SECN out of footprint rate at .25.

So would Mexico be considered in footprint or out of footprint for the Longhorn Network?

Why the frick would Texas give up its network?
Would you give up your network (assuming for a second that someone wanted to give you your own network)?
