Series rolls on. We are through QBs and RBs. WR rankings last season

1 Kayshon Boutte: (LSU)
Easily should be 1 here in my opinion. Speed, Redzone threat, deep threat, etc. Boutte is a complete WR. Coming off an injury though.

2 Jermaine Burton: (Alabama)
He is going to be the top threat in Bama offense. SEC as a whole lost a lot of solid WRs. He is in this spot for now.

3 Cedric Tillman: (Tennessee)
Will be the top WR for an explosive offense in Tennessee, that also has there QB returning. I like this spot to start.

4 Jaden Walley: (Mississippi State)
Might be a surprise to some, but he could be breakout guy. State lost a WR to the portal, and Polk to the draft. Knowing how much they throw the ball, I like this spot.

5 Jack Bech: (LSU)
This was a tough call. If you watched an LSU game you know Bech is talented and was only a freshman. He was the top guy when Boutte went down. With Boutte back the offense should open things up for him.

Honorable mentions:
Josh Vann (South Carolina)
Jadon Haselwood (Arkansas)
Jacorey Brooks (Alabama)
Adonai Mitchell (UGA)
Malik Nabers (LSU)
Jaray Jenkins (LSU)
Arian Smith (UGA)
Ladd McConkey (UGA)

If he can actually bulk up and stay healthy, Arian Smith has been and will continue to be a nightmare for opposing teams.

At the risk of inviting LSU fans to shite on the kid again, Arik Gilbert is still a freak athlete and is back with the team, expected to go through workouts and Spring practice

It was hard creating a list.

A lot of teams lost WRs, and it seems the SEC will have a lot of new guys step up.

Guessing this is a no TE list. Otherwise I’d take Bowers over most on the list.

I will do a TE list tomorrow.

Spoiler alert:
Bowers will be 1.

But he’s a TE according to LSU fans.

Whatever is convenient for their argument I guess.

Ladd McConkey probably deserves an HM more than Smith.

Had more total yards and TDs than Burton, Smith, or Mitchell this year.

Played more WR.

The reason he took snaps at TE occasionally was that LSU had no one capable.

Boutte and I guess Tillman are really the only absolutes in terms of returners. #1, #2, #3, #4, 5, #7, #9 in Yards Per Game Receiving are all gone from their teams.

There are 15-20 guys who could round out the top 5 depending on QB play and their development.

I'd probably have 1-2 of the Georgia kids in there - McConkey or Mitchell.

If you ask Bama fans that list would read:

1. Kayshon Boutte Alabama
2. Jermain Burton Alabama
3. Jacorey Brooks Alabama
4. Jack Bech Alabama
5. Jaray Jenkins Alabama

Not quite. McConkey had 5 more catches but 50 less receiving yards than Burton...and the same amount of TDs (5)...

The post you replied to mentioned total yards. Did you factor in his rushing yards?

Not according to ESPN statistics he didn't.

On this ESPN page he trails Burton in yards and is tied in tds... LINK

I'm not sure if the above noted ESPN stats are for regular season or includes post season, but in any event, McConkey also trailed Burton in receiving yards in the SEC title game, according to ESPN... LINK

And he also trailed Burton in receiving yards in the CFP game... LINK

I'd like to see how the rankings would look after this past season.
