The following list is driving expansion, not TV markets by city or region. Cable is dead.

It’s all about how popular are the brands in each conference.

Top 50 programs are listed below. Full list is here.

The numbers next to each school indicate the average number of viewers per week from 2015–19. Streaming numbers are included when available.

Does anyone buy this list? Arkansas below Ole Miss when they are the only program in their state. And Texas A&M is only 3 spots ahead of us. Maybe it is their uniforms and the cheerleaders?

I buy it. Arkansas’ fanbase doesn’t actually watch football, they just troll here and on Twitter. And A&M packs so many gays into their stadium that it makes sense there wouldn’t be many fans left to watch on TV

That's like half the state, or about a 50% share.

For reference, the Super Bowl does about a 30-share across the US.

Success has something to do with it. Compare the Saban and Dubose years and I think we’d see a great contrast.

Why would we not believe it? it was not an opinion, but a analysis of reported viewing numbers. Auburn being that high is not surprising, but we are dropping. Look for Ole Miss to rise.

Agreed. Better teams get better time slots, too. Those 11AM kickoffs on SECN+ aren't going to draw the same numbers as CBS game of the week or ESPN/ESPN2 night games.

This list also shows why you can't go completely by television market size as a determination on what teams are bringing viewers and what teams might bring value to your conference.

So...adding Clemson and FSU would bring 50% more average viewers than what the B1G brought in with USC and UCLA. (per the 2015-2019 list)

In relation to their respective state populations, Alabama and Auburn are even more impressive.

Big gap between the top 2 and the rest. Lots of fans, but a big chunk are people that tune in to the juggernauts hoping to see an upset.
