Unless you're Auburn.

You can easily have an SEC team win the regular season title and not get in.
You almost pulled it off but got a little hasty in your responses

Alabama has won between 16-20 games in 13 of the last 18 seasons.
25 1x (2011)
24 1x (2005)
23 1x (2013)
21 1x (2012)
13 1x (2014)
Alabama has 3 losing seasons since 1989 (32 years) (15-16 1998, 13-16 2000, 13-19 2014).
Alabama has 4 losing seasons since 1971 (50 years).

More just referencing that we keep having these good teams that bomb so badly in the post season (save for that Elite 8 team) that it feels like the team was worse in the 2000s than it really was.

List looks good.
LSU has had some good to great teams since 2000, but they've had some incredibly bad teams, too.
More often than not, they are just painfully average.

Well, that’s why teams that win their conference tournament don’t call themselves “Conference Champions” unless they won the regular season. There’s a distinguished difference for a reason, sir.
Except arguably the greatest basketball program ever

The ACC Tournament Champion is the Conference Champion. It's specifically different than other leagues. They do not have a regular season champion.

I don't think you understand the policy behind awarding auto-bids to conference tournament winners. Like, at all. It's certainly not the selection committee placing greater importance on winning your conference tournament. If there was no mechanism to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, 98% of small conference teams would have little to play for because their overall resumés will never be good enough to earn an at large bid. Awarding the auto-bid to the regular season champ isn't possible because ties happen all the time.

Does this include Alabama's 2020-21 conference title?

Yea, and 2021 losing seasons already determined.

diddly, you have derailed. You've lost this argument, bud. You're not even making sense at this point. Continuing down this road only makes you appear stupid and a little pathetic.

So the greatest conference in basketball, both now and throughout history, thinks the tournament is more important?
Interesting

I used to think LSU fans were WAYYYY dumber than Bama fans. But based on this thread, I'm starting to think they're about the same.

Georgia:
SEC Titles since 2000 - 0
SEC Tourney titles since 2000 - 1
Points for SEC title = 7
Points for SEC tourney title = 5
You are arguing over 2 points. I will give you 2 of our points if you hush.

George didn’t add the points for the SECT title until after I called him out.

Translation we are gonna get one of these right so we can make ourselves not look like a team that has only finished in the top 8 teams ONCE in the history of our program.
