Bo Nix had a reputation as a checkdown merchant too. Wonder how he’s doing these days.

If it moves the chains, eats the clock, and scores points, who cares? Better than trying to force it long when it isn't there.

Agreed. Ewers is the best man for the job. Needs to stay the starter.

Isn't Sark obsessed with WR screens?

Yeah, he's a big fan. Can't blame Ewers for throwing short if that's what the coach called.

Nothing new here. Quinn is not very good. Most Longhorns know that. You have the typical apologists but trust me when I say that most of us are well aware of his limitations.

Ewers is so good that he keeps the next generation of the Manning QB dynasty on the bench.

That Dr. Pepper commercial is spot on and The Boz needs to shut his yap.

He definitely likes WR and HB screens, but teams have been playing a lot of deep safety coverage so it makes it a no brainer to call it.

Quit making fun of Checkdown Charlie. Going to hurt our feelings.

He calls them because of Quinns limitations. When Arch has been in , not near as many.

Arch definitely throws more deep balls without question. It'll be interesting to see this weekend with the early game in Fayetteville.

He was right to leave. The Harsin situation was untenable.

it's not really checkdowns as much as it is Sarkisian's offense.

Colt McCoy made a living and a National Championship appearance off of quick slants, screens, and curls. He'd just nickel-and-dime defenses all the way to the end zone.
