Total chaos
Indiana knocks off Ohio State
Georgia blows out Bama
Texas Tech hammers BYU
Duke KOs the ACC's chances at the playoffs
So now we have
1. Indiana
2 to 4 Some variation of Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas Tech
5. Oregon
6. Ole Miss
7. Texas A&M
8. Oklahoma
Then you have a massive cluster frick with four spots remaining
Indy, Georgia, Texas Tech take the first three conference champs but the next two will likely have to go to Tulane and James Madison thanks to Duke
That leaves two spots remaining for a number of teams
Alabama
Notre Dame
Miami
Texas
Vandy
Well we just need to go to a 16 team playoff. That'll fix it.

They'll always take Notre Dame. Then I hope they take Vandy.

We all assume JMU is in but do we know if the committee has rankings past 25? If they do and Duke was somewhere between 26-30 they may be in the new top 25 which would put them in and allow the ACC to get a team in.

Texas and Alabama both have three losses, including a terrible one and a blowout loss. Miami and ND in - easy for the committee
Alabama SOS = 6
Texas SOS = 8
ND SOS = 44
Miami SOS = 45
Yes, Everyone knows Texas lost to Florida and Alabama lost to FSU.
We'll find out soon enough.

There is not a non-SEC team in that list that would have made the SEC championship game if they were playing in the SEC.
Bama will not be punished.

Committee loves Bama and ND
Let me say, I don’t think Bama deserves to be in. Having said that, I don’t know who really makes those decisions behind the closed curtains. I will only say that eyeballs pay for everything in sports.
Bama and ND draw eyeballs. JMU and Tulane?
It might not be fair but killing the goose that lays the golden eggs isn’t smart.

ND isnt a remaining team. ND is automatically in. The last spot is between Miami and Bama. ND would have played them better but still lost. UGA was on a mission tonight
Miami and ND are in the same tier. If they let ND in Miami is coming with them.

I believe they'll take Miami and Notre Dame. Bama looked bad and has only played .500 ball in its last four games and nearly lost a 3rd game to Auburn.
A Miami-ND rematch in the playoffs would be a huge tv game.

ND and Miami
ND has no business being in the playoffs (nor do we). That should go to Vandy.

Both Ohio State and Indiana are going to get blown out badly at some point in the playoffs
Posted on 12/7/25 at 7:54 am to dawgfan24348
It should be Bama and Louisville.
Louisville beat James Madison and Miami. Miami turns around and beats Notre Dame. Notre Dame.

9. ND
10. Alabama
11. Miami
12. G5 (James Madison?)
Mark my words.

Any of the remaining teams would have 3 losses if they played UGA tonigjt
While true, that's not the way football works. Otherwise Texas would be ranked #1.
That said, Alabama will be in at #10 and ND at #9.

There has to be 4 conference champions. I think.

I get being blown out in a CCG as a negative “data point” but the whole loss thing doesn’t need to come into play. It will but shouldn’t.To me, 3 regular season losses is much different than 2 reg season losses + 1 CCG loss.
It’s like the SEC playing a 12 game schedule and a team picking up an extra loss at some point vs. an ACC team playing 11 games with 1 less opportunity to lose. I say that to say you can’t compare loss count after the CCG in my opinion.
I think Bama is out from the standpoint the committee won’t put Bama at 10 and force a 3rd possible showdown of UGA/Bama. They can’t put UGA at 3 either to alter it. So the path of least resistance is eliminate Bama and let ND and Miami in.

Me personally, I'm putting in Vandy and Alabama because I'm an old school SEC guy.
Posted on 12/7/25 at 8:08 am to dawgfan24348
Bama had the best quality loss of all the 28-7 games this season ??????
Posted on 12/7/25 at 8:10 am to TrueTiger
It's probably going to be ND and miami but man i wish they'd put Vandy in
