There was a post about this. Students can’t be employees of the university without tax implications. Paying students exposes them to loss of millions in taxes and thus more negative impact to students and collegiate sports since most athletic departments operate in the negative as is. ...

To be fair, DJO is only leaving his second destination because 1. His coach left the program and 2. They have no conference anymore.

That was my point and question. I’m not talking about “navigated the portal well” and landed in better spots. He’s been able to transfer and not sit on multiple occasions while others can’t get 1 time transfers.

Always interesting to see ex-Dawgs journeys play out. We always hear the sad stories about transfers getting denied or kids left in the portal…but I’ve always found it interesting how JT has navigated so many schools.
