I’m embarrassed that we’ve lost to GT 8 times in the last 30 years.

Bert ate our lunch 4 years in a row.

In fairness to this, that was a great, great WVU team we lost to. That was the first UGA game I ever attended. The White/Slaton backfield combined with RichRod was an offense ahead of its time and those guys were unstoppable when they were on their game.

That core of players went on to go 32-5 from 2005-2007 and beat several very good teams very badly. The one team who had their number was South Florida.

-Those numbers are misleading since UT and UGA had to play Bama from 1908-1947 when AU did not.
-During that time Bama was 2nd in the nation with a winning % of 77% vs AU 74th at 58%, UT was 4th at 74%, UGA 26th at 67%.
-From 1923-1947 Bama was 2nd at 81% vs AU at 121st and 49%. Bama won 4 NCs (not counting bogus 1941) during that time.
-In conclusion: Bama would have likely won at least 30 of the 40 games.
-When the series resumed in 1948 the Bama record vs AU was 4-7-1. No one thinks it would have been anything like that had they played. But the numbers are what they are.

It's not AU's fault they didn't play, but it puts those numbers for UT and UGA vs Bama in a different light than the AU numbers.

Embarrassing stat:

In the last 10, Bama is 7-3 vs AU, should be 9-1. Fluke plays and officiating can be tough to overcome.
