And our newest forced rivalry with TAMU. Which again is completely one sided. They are at best annoying to LSU fans because they were foisted upon us and latched onto us like we were their new Texas.
Haven't you guys played like 60 times? That really isn't a "forced" or made up rivalry.

I would love that, but there isn't much support from either side right now.

Why would the Gumps get Moo State unless...hey wait!
SEC is a joke.
SEC is a joke.

After skimming through 14 pages of comments on this - it is clear that a lot of really good rivalries or historic matchups that should be played every year are getting left out.
I still think 6 annual opponents structured in a way that you play the other 9 teams at least once every 3rd year gives us most of the annual matchups that are getting lost.
If there were 4 groups of 4, and you play everyone in your group every year (that is 3 perms). Then also assign one permanent opponent for each team from each of the other groups (3 more perms). Each year you rotate the schedule to pair up 2 groups - your group gets paired with each of the others once every 3 years and all teams in those two groups play each other.
This gives you the following opponents each year:
3 - teams from your group (same 3 each year, so all 3 are perms)
4 - teams from that year's scheduled group (3 are non-perms, 1 is perm)
2 - the perms from each of the non-scheduled groups (2 perms)
I think this could be pretty competitively balanced (more than it has been last 2 years or with divisions) and means a 3+ year player would see EVERY SEC team at least once. Probably too complicated for the TV folks to wrap their head around though,

Texas and Texas A&M not playing because… EGO and BUTTHURT on both sides was such a stupid thing.
I seriously hope that OU and OSU figure this out because that rivalry needs to be played.

Gotta say, the fanbase that’s screwed the most here is LSU. A charter member, and yet their permanents are 2 expansion programs and Ole Miss?
I can’t speak for them, but I recall some epic games with Bama and Auburn. To get neither of them seems a slap in the face.
It was never gonna happen for Auburn to keep the Iron Bowl and DSOR. With Bama getting to keep the Iron Bowl and TSIO.
They weren't gonna stick any team with 3 Big 6 opponents.
I mean, it was Auburn's schedule with the LSU game (and Florida before that and Tennessee before that) for 30 years, but hey...who cares about any of that shite in the past right?

I won't believe it till I see it. Actually getting Bama's permanents correct would be shocking.

How many games have been played between Vandy and State? Nonsense
Posted on 9/22/25 at 1:29 pm to Mstate
Maybe it’s time to make games like South Carolina/Clemson, Florida/Florida state play first game of the year and have sec teams play each other the last game.

Was hoping to keep LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee.

I know UF vs TENN and UF LSU were more modern battles but gonna miss those series.

LSU and Bama not playing every year is outrageous
College football 2025. Get rid of the games that fans are excited for and that matter and replace them with LSU-Texas A&M in some forced "rivalry."

This is the worst case scenario if true. LSU loses their top three most desirable opponents since expansion in 1992. No Florida. No Alabama. No Auburn
There's nothing wrong with playing Arkansas or A&M. But that's just not it. My interest is in the games against teams that won national championships in my lifetime. The hook was set when I saw LSU upset Spurrier's Florida to break their unbeaten streak or watching LSU and Auburn battle while a fire blazed in the dark.

Arkansas should have been Texas, A & M and Ole Miss.
Yup, goodbye Southwest Classic. A&M is Arkansas’s most-played SEC rival, and Arkansas is A&M’s second most-played. That was a natural matchup, and the SEC just threw it away.

OH. I see. That makes a world of difference.
