Wow, I guess I'm in the minority here but Rizo really won me over this episode.

He's fun, entertaining, and not only does he talk the talk, he walks the walk.

I don't mind players who say they're great if they back it up.
It's so ridiculous that Zac Brown has more confessionals than Tiffany on this season so far.
Dude, LSU is down 9-1...it's not the turf.

Am I the only one who can't stand they stay on this same lame arse island for many seasons now? Part of the charm of the show was different hardship, bounty and adaptation to unknown places. It's cookie cutter challenge obstacles now that barely change at all. And almost zero foraging and fishing anymore.

I think the biggest issues with the show are: not moving locations, not having it be 39 days anymore (or at least a full month where you really feel like the players are having to survive out there), not having themed seasons anymore (and this lame "hands of the fans" I'm not counting), and the lack of diversity in life experience amongst the contestants.

I think they've made a push for more diversity which I think is great. But, you don't have people from all walks of life combining on the same island for a social experiment anymore. It's just a lot of upper-middle class, white collar people.
They have to make it because of their record but this is one of the biggest fluke seasons in NCAAB history.

They lucked into so many wins this season, they should have 4-6 losses even with their extremely easy schedule.
That felt like a weak episode, a real come-down from the excitement of season 50 premiering.

We didn't really get to see the tribe dynamics of 2 of the 3 tribes play out before the early tribe swap because only one tribe went to tribal council. Q did a great job of building an alliance/trust on his original tribe and got swapped without even going to a tribal council to a different tribe that just so happened to have three D vs G people that might or might not have had a pregame alliance.

Too much Emily Flippen and Charlie/Rizo too. I think most of us are watching this season for Coach, Ozzie, Cirie, Colby, etc.. We're not here to watch Emily Flippen, who shouldn't have been on this season in the first place, fumble her way through the pre-merge.

Q going home also just brought down the entertainment value of the rest of the season big time.
Call me "lazy" or "wasting money" or whatever, but I always would rather just see an H&R Block advisor (or whatever company you want to use), have an expert do it, and make sure I'm doing it right.

For people's whose taxes don't solely consist of a simple W2, I think that this is the best way to do things. Yes, you have to pay more, but you're paying to avoid the stress of doing taxes, of not accidentally screwing yourself out of a bigger refund than you deserve, and of not having to worry about accidentally doing something wrong and dealing with the IRS because of it.

Just my opinion!
I'm so sorry to hear that...dogs are family members too.

When I lost my last dog, this quote provided a lot of comfort. Hopefully it does the same for you:

“There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings and walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge that they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given.” - Suzanne Clothier
The first two hours were the best two hours of Survivor since the pre-Survivor 41. Really wish the episode ended after the Jenna boot since then it was just a sea of commercials, "New Era" gimmicks, and then a depressing med-evac.

It’s been great all 4 seasons. It’s becoming my favorite over Big Brother. In the beginning, I thought Rob was going to be a dud as a Traitor, but he’s been awesome. He deserves the $180K.

I'm really enjoying the show too. I like shows like this, Survivor, and Big Brother, they all are really fun and different enough from each other that they don't get old.

I have to say, I normally love reality tv recap podcasts, but the podcasts this week are rough. I normally listen to the gamers' podcasts, but you can tell this week that a lot of them upset Natalie went home and are essentially saying the episode wasn't good because of that bias.

Too much Monday morning quarterbacking this week. It's very easy to sit on the sidelines and say that they should have realized it was Rob and blah blah blah. The people left are tired, they're paranoid, and they've trusted Rob for a long time.

It's not so easy for them to change their minds about him, especially when Candiace's "big evidence" against him was when he dropped a fork.

For the most part, a great car. Haven't had too many issues, the Parreti dealership in Metairie is great if you're in New Orleans, drives smoothly, and gets good gas mileage.

The cons are it takes longer than you would think to accelerate and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, get the built-in navigation. The stupid navigation continually malfunctions for me to the point where it's giving my car massive issues (with the robot voice coming on unprompted and all sorts of technological issues surrounding their navigation system).
I think this is how it's almost certainly going to go:

Mark banished

Then, Tara and Johnny banished in the next two eliminations. Rob will convince Maura (with no evidence otherwise because starting now they aren't revealing their identities).

So it will be Maura, Eric, and Rob at the end, in my opinion. I'm not sure how it goes from there, except I think Rob is for sure winning.

I could see a scenario where Maura thinks Eric is a traitor and it ends with Rob and Maura at the end and Maura wins it all.

I could see Rob having a similar mindset, at the very, that the traitor who won season 1 did, and kicking the late recruit to the curb with a late change of heart.

Or I could see Eric and Rob winning together. I'm not sure. But I think we're almost certainly going to see Mark banished and then Johnny/Tara out next as the "two remaining traitors" (in Maura's eyes).

I love that idea of planning out breaks a week or two in advance. That feels much more like a "scheduled break" than a "he's giving up on his fitness."

I’ve learned that anything over an hour for me and I just start to get bored and wanting to do something else, so mentally, those 8-10+ mile days were just draining for me and I got to where I’d look for excuses not to do them.

So funny you say this. I think I started to get bored, and the runs started to feel more and more significant, once my runs passed the hour mark.

55 min vs 1 hr 5 min just feels like a world apart.

Do you have any goals? Not only race plans, but personal goals of getting faster for instance.

I've been hesitant to do races or give myself time goals because I felt in cross country tied to my watch so much, it felt freeing to run just for personal satisfaction.

However, as you're alluding to, this is the flip side of doing that..when the mileage adds up and you're not working towards anything, it feels like, "Why am I doing this to myself" on my daily runs.

Like the previous poster said, I think I need to probably get back to varying what I do more.
Hi everyone. I ran cross country in high school and then, largely took a lot of time off of running.

Around the time of the pandemic, I didn't like how I was starting to physically feel and got back into running, slowly but surely.

I'm at the point, around six years later, where my daily run is around 7 miles (I'm guessing) and takes me over an hour to do, which is a significant time commitment daily. I'm in great shape can go on a half marathon-length run on a whim without too many difficulties (when I occasionally decide to do that impromptu).

I just feel like, as my mileage has increased, it's getting harder and harder to motivate myself to go on these longer runs because of the increasingly-high amount of time and effort it takes to do them daily. And I'm, more and more, making excuses not to go on runs, which I then feel guilty about.

I think this is a mindset that only distance runners can understand, but once I increased my daily mileage to around seven miles, and I knew that my body can go on these runs daily, cutting down my daily mileage almost feels like I'm taking steps backwards, getting "lazy," and regressing, as opposed to progressing.

I'm sure this all sounds ridiculous unless you're a distance runner, but I am sure there's someone on this board that can understand my mindset.

Has anyone else ever started to feel this way? Is this something where I just need to push through my internal doubts and keep going? Or is my subconscious trying to tell me something legitimate (as opposed to just trying to give myself an excuse not to run and be "lazy")?

This is all supposed to be for personal satisfaction too! It's not like I'm training for anything! I feel like it's also just that I have so much else going on in my life, time-wise, it feels like the runs are starting to suck my free time away versus enhance my mental health/life, like I used to feel.

1. Dating is damn expensive- everyone knows how much it costs now to eat at even a basic restaurant.

2. Me too movement. Used to if there was a cute girl at work, you could ask for her number. Now guys are terrified of being hauled into HR.

3. People don’t just go anywhere like they used to. Church, bars, or anywhere. Most people go to work, come home and Netflix and doom scroll.

Reality is once you finish college and start the 8-5 grind, it’s very hard to meet anyone organically anymore.

Part of why people aren't going to the bars as often anymore, and increasing their chances of meeting someone organically, is because it's so freaking expensive to even get a couple beers nowadays.

I think your last point about the 8-5 grind making it hard to meet people is true. Unless you happen to find someone who is clearly showing interest in you at work, it's exhausting to work a full day, do chores/required tasks, deal with meals, try to have a social life, exercise, AND now find time to date.

Single people don't usually have someone to help them get everything done. If they have a bunch of chores to do we have to fit it all in after a long day at work rather than delegating to someone, we have to find the time to get it all done. Let alone if we want to exercise or do something social.

And now, on top of this, we have to try to talk to half-interested women on these dating apps and go on dates, which can be pretty expensive, knowing that the likely result of this is getting ghosted or rejected at some point, likely very early on.
My mindset is, these players are getting a big paycheck nowadays, criticism is warranted as part of that paycheck.

If you're getting paid, often six+ figures, on top of a free education, room, board, food, etc., and you're not performing up to par, then too bad

I certainly don't see the players complaining about soaking up the money, education, and amenities.
As someone who has spent some time on the dating apps, I totally get this.

At this point, I feel like I'm on a couple of the apps because I "should be trying to find a partner" more than anything else.

It's hard to go on these apps, swipe on a bunch of girls you think are around your level of attractiveness and then just occasionally get a response. Then, even if you do get a response, chances are, you're going to get ghosted.

So, of course, your self-confidence is going to plummet and you're going to start thinking, wow, I am not nearly as good-looking/charismatic as I thought.

It's because any woman on these sites are getting blown up with tons of likes and they have their choice to go on a date with plenty of guys. And if they go on a date with you and it isn't perfect, back to Hinge/Bumble/Twitter where they have messages from 15 other guys.

It's a tough world out there and then, when you're on the dates, because you're not getting that many matches, you put more pressure on yourself to be at your "best" and then the date doesn't go very well.

Or, someone who you're not that attracted to (someone who is on the borderline of "Do I swipe right or not" when you're swiping) is one of the only people replying to you and you're not very into the date.

It's tough...

You hit on a lot of things. I tend to agree. CBB gameplay is close to what it’s always been. The one and done model used to be restricted to lottery picks. Now it’s available for anybody who might transfer.

Yep and it's unlimited transfers, as well, which is a major problem. Someone like Dariah Mensah in football, for instance, getting to just transfer around to different schools makes a mockery of what college sports is. You should be limited to one transfer and then you sit out a year.

And the whole stuff with Alabama and Bediako makes a mockery of college sports, as well.

I think, to fix college sports, you need to limit to one transfer then sit out a year and rein NIL back in to only sponshorships, and then you get the essence of college sports back.

But, I think the wider problem for sports is the streaming issues. Like, seriously, I've barely heard the freaking Super Bowl even mentioned on social media. And it's the Super Bowl.
I've had family members chew me out for being so aggravated/angry on the road...as a part-time Uber driver, it's hard for me to help it.

If you've been doing rideshare/delivery service(s) where time is money, you know exactly what I mean. You've seen the mistimed lights, people going way too slow given the speed, and people driving like maniacs way too often.

And that frustration bleeds into when you're not doing rideshare/delivery and you're just driving around town too. You're just sick of being on the road with incompetent people.
