He voted no during the first round of voting and wasn’t the only one. Probably felt like he needed to pick and choose his battles wisely and voted yes the second round. They’re on the same page, don’t you worry.

Well, that's great and all, but what about teams like Ole Miss who judge shopped to get a 24 year old granted his 6th year of eligibility for no reason whatsoever?
I'm glad they're killing this part of it, but the Trinidad thing's just as bad, and we can't stop it? Literally because an Ole Miss fan, who happens to be a piddly judge in some podunk backwoods town in Mississippi, wants his alma mater's team to be relevant?

Why would the NFL sue LSU? LSU didn’t make this ruling allowing players to go back for 5th year

The NCAA didn't follow their own rules podunk judge or not. The SEC could make a rule disallowing TC of course.

NFL wouldn’t sue LSU. They could sue Lane Kiffin himself if they wanted. Could they win? No idea. Not a lawyer

I guess the SEC is fine with kids playing 6 or 7 years or whatever, such as Pavia or Chambliss.

You think the NFL is going to sue over players that were being cut anyways? 
If anything the NFL would quietly rather some of those borderline players get another year in college ball since it’s basically their farm system

Time to replace them with FSU or Notre Dame. They don’t belong in this conference any longer if they can’t follow a simple code of morality

The real concern is what could happen once you exposure yourself to liability.

The above can be true.
But what legal obligation does Lane Kiffin have with NFL contracts? He isn't an NFL opposing team. He isn't an employee of the NFL in any capacity.
Free market gives him full authority to talk to NFL players. If the NFL doesn't like it, they can punish the NFL players for violation of league rules and contracts.
Lane owes the NFL no duty or obligation.
