Lmaooo they own you in just about every major sport. Might wanna pump the breaks on the big brother talk. Y'all are most definitely a little sister compared to both Texas and OU

Texas and Oklahoma fans are unusually giddy at the prospect. Didn't have a clue they were that fed up with their big 12 product.
They know the Big 12 is a shite heap. They just wouldn't admit it because they were stuck in it.

This, this, this!!!
Pods with this exact set up. It brings a nice mix of old and new rivals with balance across multiple sports.

LHN must become SEC Network 2.
And we use that shitty early ESPN 2 font
It would make sense to have a dedicated SEC channel for each division on gamedays. Would be the only way to get them all aired.

My biggest hesitation in relying solely on future ad revenue growth is we are watching in-person attendance drop nationwide, falling interest nationwide in sports in general, and in particular rapidly declining interest in traditional sports among young viewers and also pretty much everyone outside the south and midwest.
I don't doubt that networks are salivating for the ad revenue UT and OU bring today, but will that value be there in 10 years? I love college football, and in ny heart I'd love to think it's going to be a huge sport forever. But my eyes and brain are telling me that probably won't be the case. If it were me, I'd want the guaranteed cable sub money for any new members to mitigate those risks. But that's just me.
One other thing to consider. If there is a behind-closed-doors legit push for 16 team super conferences, this may be the SEC getting ahead of it and locking in the best teams they can.

So by your logic y'all ran from Baylor?

I have a little place in Oklahoma that I was visiting last week. I took a short drive over to Arkansas to look around and hang out with locals. I saw Razorback stuff on every light pole, in front yards, etc; and it was weird to be just 4 miles from Oklahoma and to think how close both programs and fans are geographically, yet we have nothing to do with each other.

We’ve lost to Baylor like 3 times in the past 40 years, even tho we’ve been bad for the last 30 years

Those weeks before the conference schedule begins would need to have games begin so early that they'd make the old early Jefferson Pilot games seem like prime time.

Could be. Or the NCAA could be on the verge of folding in the wake of recent court cases, and the SEC wants to be in the drivers seat to form the new power structure in college athletics.
But unless something like that is happening behind the scenes to majorly shake up college athletics as we know them, I just don't see the long-term value of a move like this being there for the reasons mentioned before.
But I'm not the guy making these decisons, so I guess I'll just have to watch and see what happens.

Please no. We don’t want anymore Texas and Oklahoma fans posting here.

But nah - frick Texas. Their greed is the exact reason the B12 is the mess it is today. Rot there.
They love lording over their conference brethren in the b12, let them stay in that shithole and preen around like a peacock while the SEC wins the hardware.

The SEC would be more powerful than the NCAA at that point. We should just make our own rules.
Posted on 7/21/21 at 3:56 pm to lsufball19
Or it could just be UT and OU posturing to demand bigger payout from the Big 12 again at the expense of the other Big 12 programs. Certainly wouldn't be the first time.

We had a winning record vs. BU in the Big12, so no.
