Used to be the greatest weekend during the season when I was a kid.
OU vs Texas
UF/LSU
UGA/Vols
FSU/Miami

Well, I don’t think it’s fair to say that. Michigan-Ohio and Bama-Auburn are pretty close.
But it’s nice to see you have strong feelings about our rivalry game.

But Texas has dominated the series. Statistically.
Texas has been to the playoffs more. Played for a national championship more recently. Texas has won a national championship more recently.
So explain more please, not sure we understand?

Yeah, the UGA / Bama game is certainly becoming a great rivalry in the sport.
This must be a joke. There has been some intrigue lately, sure. But this series is so hopelessly lopsided in Bama’s favor both all time and recently it simply can’t be considered a “rivalry.”

I’ve been. This is a highly curated, manufactured showcase between two partners, played in the shadows of skyscrapers and devoid of nearly everything that makes college football great. It’s designed to be the most boring atmosphere of the regular season and it doesn’t disappoint there:no hostile crowd, no traditional tailgates outside of a couple die-hards, no college. NFL games feel more college-like than whatever this is.

The only part that adds up is you claim Dallas… you’re not hanging with the right people friend

Damn man. This has to stop. You are not the program OU is.
You haven’t been to the playoffs more than them. And beyond 50 years I don’t keep up with things man. OU has owned you since the Vietnam war ended, before rocky was a movie and since we landed on the moon.

Cocktail Party. That’s all.

That’s the issue. You can’t hang with your crowd because they don’t really let you set up in the parking lots so whatever you do almost has to be part of some curated official “event” I wouldn’t describe that as hanging at all.

You’re correct, Texas is not the program OU is. Thank gawd am I right?
Texas is better historically head to head, not sure why you’re dancing around that. Texas has been to the playoffs more. Literally twice as often
I was born in 1984. Texas is 19-21-2 during that time frame.
I’m a little confused. You were saying this was a boring rivalry game dominated by one team. Yet none of what you are saying suggests that and your own stats go against your original premise? Explain?

Yes tailgating is a different animal for this game. It’s a neutral site game.. the state fair is the tailgate if you are unattached. The alum areas though is a great scene

It's been over 1000 days since OU has beaten Texas.

I'll allow it. Because your post gave me shaggy feels.

Well, there was aTm vs Miami last year.

Not every minute. But absolutely we consider you rivals, and it has nothing to do with whether the game is played at a fairground.
But it’s always funny to watch sips try and downplay the rivalry with Texas A&M. You’re fooling no one.
When y’all first joined the SEC, one of your official UT Instagram accounts was doing a interview on the street type of segment where they stopped and asked random fans who they were most looking forward to playing in the SEC. Nine out of 10 of them said A&M, and it wasn’t even close.
But it makes no difference in my life.
Texas has played OU every year for 120+ years, regardless of conference.
Both schools joining the SEC didn't change that.
Of the SEC schools Texas might play, not surprised that most people looked forward to continuing to add to Texas' winning record at Kyle Field, currently 27-22-2, including the last 3.

Playing in a historic venue with a state fair going on in the parking lot isn't what makes CFB great?

Army/Navy. No one outside of Texas and Oklahoma give AF about this damn game unless it directly affects their own team and that can honestly be said for any other rivalry out there, EXCEPT the Army/Navy Game, it never has any national significance in CFB standings, the winner doesn’t get to the playoffs. It’s about about purity. There is no NIL, no multi million dollar contracts waiting for the players. It’s young men who will be leading other young men and women into harms way.
In 1926 they played at soldier field dedicating the field to honoring those lost during WW1. The official attendance for the game was 110,000. Even Knute Rockne attended the game over coaching his own team that day.
There only 6 FBS rivals that have met more times and UT/OU isn’t one of them.
Twice the game was actually played for the national championship. 44 and 45.
Instant replay was used for the first time in the United States in 1963 and it was the army navy game.
Most importantly the entire college football world watches only Army Navy. It’s not crammed into a Saturday night in October. It is the absolute final game of the college football regular season.
The weaponry on display during the game from the Flyovers with F22, F35 even the Blue Angles have done some. Apache Helicopters, Howitzer Crews on the field.
The entire student body of both schools march on the field before game.
Yeah I could go on and on. All these other games are fun and mean something most of the time in the Standings. But nothing beats the Army Navy Game.
Oh and Army has just as many recognized National championships as UT. Army also has more Heisman Trophy winners than UT.
What exactly makes UT so damn narcissistic? Their history isn’t exactly storied. OU is a better fit for the SEC.
