His “injury” wasnt what took him from being an “early season Heisman favorite”. What changed is he wasn’t playing good defenses early last year that could make him uncomfortable and than he started playing defenses with actual athletes. Texas rocked him.

It will be similar this year. Put up big numbers against defenses that lack the athletes. Look like what he is against the 4-5 teams that have a real defense. He is an above average D1 qb with a non-average skill set that can be used to put solid numbers btwn the 20s. You’re fooling yourself if you think otherwise

Texas was 10-3 in 2025 after losing 24 draft picks from previous 2 teams that won 26 games combined and cfb semi finals twice (11 of which went in rounds 1 or 2)

A&M set a program record of 10 draft picks in 2025 (nice for yall)… one of the greatest seasons in Aggie history… but won nothing and played the easiest schedule in modern SEC history

The fact that Texas “only” had 6 players drafted from past years team (btw is equal to the amount A&M had previous two years combined) tells a story of what is upcoming…

Not sure if you’re smart enough to do the math, but 2026 is going to be a beat down for the Aggies

Texas IS ranked in EVERYTHING (okay women’s soccer has been a major disappointment for a long time… they are usually ranked but such a waste of what should be a really good program..)

However, if a Texas fan DARED to point that out on this board, like the OP, they would be crucified with the same old BS Texas-hater stuff you get in every thread about Texas.

Texas appears to be content with a pitching rotation built to win a series vs a rotation that will win you games when you need it. Fine for conference play but sets up for disaster in the post season. Ill take a dominant closer over a Sunday guy every time.

Plenty of time left for someone from pen to emerge... but for all the arm talent, the lack of consistency and zero "it" factor between the ears doesn't leave me feeling optimistic
