I am with you. I hate our turf. It looks shitty and causes more injuries.

No brainer to me. All turf looks shitty to me.

Arkansas' always looks bad as well. Looks wet all the time.

our natural grass field always looked pitiful by mid October. I hate the synthetic stuff but they've always had problems in Fayetteville having decent grass in the stadium. Something tells me Bielema will get natural grass back if he sticks around.

Can some state fan tell me how to grow grass under my crape myrtles and leyland cypruss trees?
St Augustine will grow in shade. Keep it watered well though in case the trees/root systems are sucking the ground dry.

More like OM refused to use the correct grasses that actually would grow there...

Same shite happened to parts of our baseball stadium. That's the reason why we have turf behind home plate and on the foul side of each baseline. But yeah let's spend thousands developing a specific grass that might work sometimes or get turf that works 100% of the time. I love natural fields, but for our situation, turf is the best option.

Check your soil PH as well. The breakdown of leaves for certain tree species lower the PH so you may need to add lime. We also tend to aerate the soil under our trees every year to help the turf. It seems to make a difference.

t's still more expensive. "Man hours" is a useless stat if it costs you more to have fewer "man hours" involved.

Turf is cheaper in the long run. LINK

We had grass before, it has trouble growing in our stadium's location for whatever reason so it's easier to have turf. And the turf looks better IMO.

I have absolutely no evidence to support your claim but I support your claim. Honestly, it just looks better too.....unless you're Tennessee and don't know how to maintain grass.

Yeah the torrential downpour everyday for ~2 weeks we had has nothing to do with it.

23-17. Why dont u worry about covering long FG's and leave Ole Miss's field alone.

I think the SEC needs to DEMAND they go to natural turf over there or get fined until they comply.

Um people get hurt on grass too, look at Tennessee's field or Fedex Field.
