Still more expensive overall for your athletics dept. For what gain?
Less man hours on the football field. Instead of 5 people putting 8 hours a day 3 days a week to mow and paint the field, it literally went to 1 person using a broom on the back of the cart to make the field look clean in about an hour.
More manpower could be spent at baseball, softball football, soccer and the football practice fields.

What part of "the money was donated for it" dont you understand?

However, the grabbing of the jersey in the middle of the back (perfectly legal) resulted in the same type tackle that is the exact reason why the horse collar rule was instituted. It was an unfortunate occurrence but you can't make everything illegal or it would be flag football. I don't see where the playing surface had anything to do with it.
I thought the injury was related more to the horse collar and the targeting finishing move.

You are 100% wrong. Quit being a little bitch. Neither Drake nor Treadwell were injured because of the turf. Almost all of these stadiums that use turf these days use pretty much the same kind. It's not any more dangerous than grass.

It's still more expensive. "Man hours" is a useless stat if it costs you more to have fewer "man hours" involved.

When most decisions they make are based off of OM, its tough for them to understand that it doesnt go both ways.

The part where you idiots assume it is a one-time expense -- when it's really a yearly expense.
I'm sure someone set up a multi-million dollar trust so you could get and keep faux grass for all eternity at OM though. Can't wait till the field turf the grove...

It would cost us more money to change something we dont have a problem with then it would to keep the thing we dont have a problem with. Why are yall so obsessed with grass?

This whole argument is almost as dumb as the time you tried to tell me endowment figures were based on current enrollment.

We just think it's funny that MSU can grow grass in a dome in Arizona, and our grass can get enough light to look tremendous in Tiger Stadium, but the enigma that is Vaught Hemingway can't grow grass in an endzone in Mississippi...

percentage growth in endowment due to percentage growth in enrollment. Whats your explanation of how your endowment growth has lessened with less growth in student population?

dome in Arizona
You do realize that they roll the grass in the parking lot when they aren't using it.
And are you saying that we are still paying off the turf or it cost money each year to keep it up? Because it is payed off im sure and it doesn't require any yearly upkeep.

What's your explanation for how our endowment growth is still outpacing the shite out of yours in spite of your growth in student population?
This is literally the dumbest argument you've ever made -- and that's saying something. Current students contributing millions in the way of endowed gifts in order to contribute to the growth of the university. Gotta love 18 year old millionaires...
