Hey you moron, did you know that we had a guy break his leg at LSU? Did our turf cause that?

There are truly some stupid people in this world. I don't know in what universe that someone jumping down on someone's leg and breaking it is the fault of the playing surface.

Correct. It was a clean play. The only arugment OM fans can make is if his ankle was down or not.

What do you mean "might"? He hit him facemask to facemask. It doesn't matter though because he had already fumbled and the penalty wouldn't have done any good.

He was drug down backwards and his leg couldn't handle the pressure. It had nothing to do with the turf. It's football. People get hurt. DWI.

Mile High in Denver...the new Mile High, has a hybrid of field turf and real grass that grows intertwines with the artificial turf.

This is a hybrid. This is a cross of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus belt that night on this stuff.

the new Mile High grass in Denver has nothing to do with the football field.

LT's injury had more to do with the tackle than it did with the turf.

The south endzone doesn't get enough sunlight and grass is impossible to grow there.

More like OM refused to use the correct grasses that actually would grow there...

OUR grass seems to grow fine under incredibly shaded conditions -- including under the retractable dome of Chase Field. The endzone of VH isn't that difficult of a circumstance -- you just didn't want MSU having any claim to your playing surface. Something clearly defined in the article as not being bothersome in the least to LSU, who actually had to truck in our grass from Arizona for Alex Box...

Unless the injury is related to making a cut or planting and getting stuck, I don't see how it can be associated with the turf.

I seem to remember someone landing on Drake. Neither his nor Treadwell's injuries were related to the turf IMO.

Or it is a lot easier to have turf instead of dealing with mowing and painting grass every week. We had the money donated to make the change so we did. I know, I worked in that part of the athletic department right after they made the switch.

Still more expensive overall for your athletics dept. For what gain?

Dumbass. The turf didn't cause Treadwell's injury.

He was getting pulled down by his jersey and his ankle was pinned under the tackler.

Actually having a turf field is cheaper than grass over the long haul. That is why all of the smaller schools are switching to turf.

The new type of field turf uses cork instead of rubber pellets. It helps with overheating, and cleats don't get caught in it as much. ETA- not sure if OM has had that installed or not

Is that true? Haven't seen it yet. But there have been some event concerns with the rubber pellets causing cancer, especially in soccer goalies. This shite is impossible to keep out of your shoes too!
