A major problem the Black Bears has is that it is competing against several teams with stadiums seating over 100,000, a lot more with stadiums seating thousands more as well, i.e. the revenue difference is considerable & perhaps permanent. And money can over come a lot of obstacles; a lack of money, can't. Too, depth wins in the SEC & it will take a while before they are close to matching that of UGA, bama, LSU ( in normal seasons), aggies, Fla. & even AU. A poor defense is an accurate reflection of depth issues. Look at LSU this yr, the Black Bears, forever.

Don't really know how you can say that when there have been plenty of games that have been decided on freak plays. I mean the Kick 6 was just as unlikely to happen as a lateral play resulting in a 1st down. It just tends to happen more often to Ole Miss than multiple times to any other team.
Not saying we are gonna take the west, but I do believe we are going to start being very competitive in the division moving forward.
Our defense is atrocious but we do have 11 incoming defensive recruits enrolling early and already practicing with the team.
