Remember when James Meredith showed up at Ole Miss.......
He got that great Ole Mill hospitality.....
What a proud moment it was for Ole Miss.....
Ole Miss will be remembered for that alone....not for the elite academic standard....not a nattys in football

I've seen JM many times in Jackson, MS wearing a OM hat. He drives a old cadillac. I'm not sure the obsession with civil rights era.

In their defense... At least Ole Miss' former school president didn't burn down a quarter of the south.
As far as the Meredith story... I think of it every time I visit Ole Miss. It is truly hard to believe something like that could have ever happened there... especially in the 1960s when Ole Miss was a tiny school and Oxford was but a small village.
That '62 Ole Miss football team was amazing that they did what they did under those circumstances.

Try starting small. First figure out when the game is. Then we can move on to a much more complex subject like the socioeconomic history of the south.
