Traylor, McGuire, Frank Wilson, Blake Baker are realistic options right now.

Sumnal is headed for Auburn, Franklin to Arkansas, Kiffin to Florida.

He is hurt more than they are saying. It will come out after the season and your respect for him will go up then.

The reason they are forced to play him is because they do not have confidence in the backup to be an every down QB.

That is why losing the kid from Michigan was so vital.
I hate to repeat this "Saban lives rent free in the heads of LSU fans".....He has retired and now is on college gameday. He also coaches his grand kids baseball.....Please get over him. Kids born on Christmas day 2004 are almost 21 years old and can legally drink.

I think pretty much that is where we are right now.

Would Jeff Traylor be a good hire?

Just asking, not suggesting....

He is having a down year, but he has overall done a nice job at UTSA. That program does not have a long winning history.

Only knock on him was he was at Arkansas 2018-2019 when the Razorbacks did not win a single game. But he was not the HC. He has seen the SEC and knows what is like.

The university had no problem paying Les Miles and even Ed Orgeron after his off the field antics.

10 million dollars to Les and 16 million to EdO were considerably smaller than 53 million to BK. Hence we paid without any issue.

It's the amount "intelligent one"

Brian Kelly was lazy is a very subjective call. Nobody survives this long in division 1 hc job being lazy....not one with Kelly's record even at LSU with 70% win percentage.

The problem with Kelly at BR was he did not culturally fit at a time when culture has become a part and parcel of our lives.

But we knew he was from Boston, he coached in the upper mid west and at the hallowed cathedral of education at Notre Dame. He would not fit here culturally like EdO did.

Even without the culture factor, offering a 60 year old a 10 year contract, no matter how good he is is a bad idea. He might try to win a natty but after a while age will become a factor and he might give up....which was what was close to happening.

Why did we hire him. Ok Woodward did it. But Woodward and Tate could not have done this without TAF and big money boosters approving of it. After all they were the ones that would be paying for most of his salary.

The hiring and the contract was on LSU. The impulsive firing was on LSU. Firing without reviewing the full financial implication was on LSU.

Then comes the timing of the firing...at a time we did not have a sitting president....then post firing we fire an established AD who has made two very good hires apart from Kelly...so we are left with a president and an AD. So then we get a president and then we are forced to promote someone to AD in haste. He is a good man and will in all likely make a great AD but we do not know that for sure.....that sir is on LSU as well.

Don’t we have a sports journalist or two left in Baton Rouge who can give us a legit long-form story on what happened here? This might be the biggest LSU football catastrophe in my lifetime - from being ranked #3 with a 5th year senior QB a 6 weeks ago to the complete demolition of the football program mid season?

This is a new age of college football. Big money, big expectations and ever changing rosters make things unpredictable to say the least.
The more messy this situation gets the more it hurts the LSU brand. Kelly does not have to coach. He has earned enough money for his kids to live in great comfort. But we have a program to run and compete.

Guess what. That was what Kelly tried to do.

Your right there isn’t a LSU COACH that was liked by everybody.

Eddie Eaugh was liked by all of us. He spoke like us, walked like us and thought like us. Ths ultimate LSU "one of us" coach.
Because he is one of us. Kelly wanted to fire him but instead he was let go.

This program could have completely fallen off the rails following Orgeron (see Auburn or Florida),

Watch, it is about to do so.

We got the better end of that deal. We don’t have to freeze in that communist shithole.

Trust me, Canada and Nova Scotia is far better than Louisiana at this moment.
Neither were Steve Spurrier. Phil Fulmer and Gene Stallings.

The only true reason for Kelly getting fired was fitment. It had absolutely nothing to do with winning or how he ran the program.

He was fired because he did not walk, talk and pretend to think like us.
