Pretty sure all teams cheated back in the day

Jan Kemp
Name me the NCAA rules broke with this so called "scandal"
BTW Jan Kemp was the best thing to ever happen to the UF and UT programs in the 90's. It took us at least 10 years to recover from all the bullshite publicity and"reforms" put in while our rivals were still doing the exact same thing.

Richt was the worst of them all.

I actually believe UGA was pretty clean until Kirby. Kirby is a win at all cost kind of baw and he learned from the best in Saban on how to handle things under the table. So my guess is he brought some of those practices to UGA pre-NIL.
I like Kirby’s attitude in a football coach, so not much criticism for him on my end. I hope Sumrall has a lot of that passion in him as well. After Billy, we need it badly.

I was an undergrad in the early 90s and I saw the money Garrison Hearst and Andre Hastings were paid under the table. I saw it because they used it to pay me to tutor them.
Don't tell me UGA didn't cheat; every bigtime school did it.

Yeah, the chubby frat douche that learned from Saban for so many years, the ultimate modern rule breaker that escaped accountability, just waltzes into Athens and creates a recruiting powerhouse while being clean as a whistle. frick outta here. What a weird bait thread. At least I hope it was bait.

Um..we all cheat..every program. Are you so naive that you honestly think every school but UGA does it?

Georgia Tech left the SEC because of the cheating

I do agree that every school cheated...and Georgia included.
But...the athletic department didn't provide them with tutors?
Not saying you are wrong...I am just shocked.

You were caught cheating rather recently.

Richt ran a pretty tight ship. We were often blasted for losing out on recruits in our own backyard. We handcuffed ourselves to suspensions for things other teams swept under the rug. Kirby helped us not be the shining beacon of morality anymore and brought us a couple nattys and a few sec championships.
Everyone cheats tho

"Corrupt boosters" existed outside of the football program and University.
Particularly in a state like Georgia... where there is a lot of in state talent and rich guys from the player's home towns could do the cheating.
For most big time programs... the coaches and University officials weren't involved in the actual cheating. And they tried hard not to know as well...

I was a walkon on the golf team at that time. I’m sure they could have gotten tutors through the AA, but these guys knew me personally and were comfortable with me. They asked me to help them and I wasn’t saying no.

Rightfully so..
The 2017 NFL draft was one of the very worst examples. The state of Georgia produced more draft picks than any other state (17) and not one of those draft picks signed with UGA. The 2013 class was a disaster and the final nail in the coffin for CMR.
